Thursday August 27. Next trustee meeting!
If you are available please come out again and show your support. I am certain it will not reach the fevered pitch of 2 weeks ago, but it is important that we do all we can to continue showing them we are not going to lay down like a kicked dog.
They believe, now that faire has ended, that the issue will go away and they will be able to sweep everything under the rug.
Daisy and I have agreed that come hell or high water, one or both of us will continue to attend meetings and make sure they don't try to slip anymore BS through the cracks without someone to answer to. A continued presence and pressure will assure them that this is not going away!
Please join us at every meeting you can.
Thank you!

Brook, Do we need to have the media there again- if they are willing? Local Cleveland paper?
I can make 1 call to Mr Campenalla who published both articles. Just let me know.

I don't think media are necessary this time. We've already shown them that we have the support of the media and can bring them in at any time. The important thing this time is to show them that we are not going away!

Very true. Hopefully we can get at least a few people to show up at every meeting, at least until the election.
I can't make this current one coming up. Too many irons in the fire now. But I am hoping to hit at least one fo the meetings in October. (after Brit is off to college and hopefully things have gotten closer to normal around here)

Media would have been nice. They were very disrespectful and rude towards us.

True. But the media are not going to go to every meeting. Just not enough story there for them to justify it. So, they would be on their best behavior when they are there, and still be just as rude when they aren't.

The media must stay involved or it defeats what we are fighting for. The more that comes out in meetings the more exposed they "Trustees" become. We must not stop the media ever. That is what is going to keep them running. We must keep writing to the media, calling the commissioners, governors, senators, congressmen, etc. We can't just stop and wait. Waiting will get us no where. Trust me we have tried that game. It is time to NOT stop and wait it is time to be active and to be continuously active. We need to take this new approach and not give them a fighting chance.

Oh, I agree about continuing with the phone calls and letters. No doubt about that. What I am saying though, is that realistically, the newspapers and TV stations are only going to be interested in so much. If it doesn't generate headlines, or soundbites, then they are not going to bother with it. They are not going to show up at every meeting, and they are not going to follow every twist of of the story. It would be nice if they did. But it just won't happen.
What we can do though. Is continue to apply pressure. Keep the letters and phone calls going. Show up to the meetings. Keep digging for information. Make sure the word gets out to as many people as possible.
Let them know that we are not going away. And that we will remain united in this effort.

alright, I don't get to read this very much. What's going on?! If I could I'd be up there doing something. Long story short. Trustees lost their latest appeal with the ongoing litigation against Larry and the faire. So they decided to try another plan of attack. Drive the vendors away. Drew up a new transient vendor legislation. Had the sheriff's department at the faire a few weekends citing every vendor and booth worker they came across. Instead of driving the vendors away, the vendors all banded together and took the fight to them. See these videos for some of the news coverage of the situation. www.youtube.com/user/tay13666

Unfortunately I have been scheduled to work. I've been to every one so far and was hoping to make this one too, but alas. Hope all goes well. I'm there in spirit. Gatekeeper, hope the stones are a little easier to handle this time. I will be watching the board. Take Care Lynne
