Ok. I know most here are excited at the thought of ousting 2 of the incumbents in Trumbull Township.
But I think a little taste of reality is in order.
First, this isn't about the faire. It is a symptom of some of the problems, but most residents don't really care one way or the other about the faire. They want a candidate that will do things they way they want them done. Period.
Second, I am sure the candidates themselves do not want to turn this into a faire issue. They want to promote themselves and show what they can bring to the office. And what they can do for the residents.
Third. Making this a faire issue could actually hurt their chances. The faire issue brings with it a lot of baggage. I am sure a lot of residents are tired of hearing about it, and want to hear what will change, and what that means to them.
And most importantly. This is about what is best for the residents of Trumbull Township. If it happens to be a good thing for the faire also, then major plus for us.
And remember. Even if both incumbents fall in the election. That does not guarantee smooth sailing for the fiare. I am sure they will make trouble, weather they are in office or not. And just because the other 2 running don't hate the faire, their winning does not give Larry a rubber stamp to do as he wishes. It gives the fiare some fair and reasonable people to deal with. But I am sure they are still going to do what is best for the people they represent.

Trev is absolutely right, this cannot be simply a "faire" issue or a "fire dept." issue or even a "roads" issue, there are MANY issues that will need to be addressed in the coming months. There are those in the township that hate the faire, others love it and still others couldn't care one way or the other. This race is about the heavy handed way the current administration is treating the people of this township and those who visit it. Mr. Tamborrino stated that " the people want to know who is coming into their township." That's why he ,and the other "trustees" want a list of faire vendors, I have to wonder if they would be willing to have ALL of THEIR out of town guests register with the township so the rest of us know who THEY are allowing in? We need to show unity for the betterment of Trumbull Twp. and those who choose to visit us whether it is for our Faire or the covered bridge festival or whatever the reason. We also need to show that we will be fiscally responsible and not fritter away precious tax dollars on needless endeavors, but spend those dollars wisely on things that really matter to the WHOLE township and not just a select few. Information is the key, let's concentrate on the gathering of solid facts for our campaign, I'm sure the other side will use smear tactics, which we should try to avoid, let's take the high road. Thanks all Russ

I agree whole heartedly with Russ about the fact that the other side will use smear tactics, after all Tamburinino has been for years. The more facts we have regarding issues about how money has been spent and on what the better Russ' chances are. If he has the backing of the Ashtabula County Visitors Bureau it sure can't hurt. And a few newspaper endorsements would't hurt either. Sue
