I just chalk it up to cabin fever. And a lack of any news regarding faire. Not much to talk about faire wise other than this little thread. So.....

Any of you that really love our faire need to come out and assist in preparation starting in April, otherwise just go to the pub and have a beer. So it be said, so it be done. Blessed be thy sentiment.

I rarely get into these discussions but BK I'd like to buy you for what you are worth and sell you for what you think you are. Then I could buy the faire or help Larry with the money end of this one.

Now Crash. Joe is just very passinate in his love for GLMF. His post was started as a knee-jerk reaction to the events that happened.
Put yourself in his place. Things had finally turned around. Plenty of acts that he liked, people were happy, and the faire was fun for him again. And the future looked promising. Suddenly John leaves with insinuations that there was some personal conflict with the owner. Suddenly all the forward momentum and hopes for the next season are possibly turning to ashes now. He has already seen this faire that he loves take a downward slide (in his and many others eyes) and turn into something that brought him very little joy and a lot of sorrow and frustration. So, he lashes out and speaks his mind. Voices his fears and gives an honest view of what he thinks could happen.
While you may not agree with his assesment, or his views. You must aknowledge that he isn't alone in these thoughts. While Joe's views may be unpopular, they are shared by a lot of other long time faire-goers. I know. I have heard it many times. "Oh, GLMF, I used to love going to that faire, but haven't gone in a few years because ________" They all have their reasons. But lots of people quit coming to faire for various things that they percieved as wrong.
One of the things I like about Joe, is that he is honest and shoots from the hip. You have no doubt what his real opinion is. If more of the naysayers spoke their mind, we might be able to convince them to give things another shot. Instead most don't say anything and just leave and never come back. At least when fears are brought out in the open, they can be adressed. Either by management making some changes, or by others showing more positive aspects that people may have missed.

Oh goody...I can put out a retort! Thanks for finally giving me an excuse Crash.
It just goes to show how stupid some cast members are by criticizing me, when the only beef I have with GLMF is how Larry runs things. I have always supported the cast, but as usual, they don't know me, so they go ahead and attack me personally.
Now....they (cast) can all go to hell. I am done sticking up for the cast. Yer nothing but a bunch of bottom-dwelling high-school drama club wannabes. There...now they have a reason to really despise me.
I know who my "real" friends are at GLMF, so I really don't give a damn what cast members think of me.
Was that too harsh? Now you know how it feels.

Ok, I am locking this thing down Joe, that was uncalled for! One cast member had an issue with your opinion and got a little personal with the comments. (which I addressed and defended your side) That is no reason to paint all cast members with the same brush. You know damn well that we have some awesome cast members, and I think your comment really crossed the line. I know you are passionate in your views. But you need to realize that so are many others that go to faire, and their views don't always agree with yours. Yes, Larry is a polarizing topic. You will find just as many people who will stand up for him, as you will find people that will put him down. But because both sides are passionate, is no excuse for personal attacks or disparaging remarks. Either take the argument to email, private messages, or drop it completely. Either way, I don't want to see it on the board again!
