i think it'll be absolutely wonderful considering that we all love our faire and will make it fabulous. All the Uber-Patrons and Cast will most likely come just for the atmosphere. Just because we no longer have JD, we still have each other and we will keep the magic alive. It will always be in Avaloch, because it is OUR faire, no matter who is directing. People come for the magic, and we shall deliver it to them, no? I certainly will. And i'm sure that Scott is up for it! i have faith in him, and i believe wholeheartedly that it will be great.

I'm going to go with Jinxy on this one. John wasn't God, kids. He didn't do everything. It's a group effort. Yes, things have improved, and John threw in some much needed zest to the faire while getting rid of quite a lot of the negative energy. Faire will survive, and thrive because we're all here, we love faire, and WE will make it happen. I have personal connections with Emuzeki, and I can almost guarantee that they will be back. This is our faire. This is our home. ED's come and go, but GLMF has stood, and if we all work together, will continue to stand.

I would like to say that no matter who the ED was I have always had a great time at GLMF. I love the place and over the past 2 years have missed being a part of cast, chess game, etc. as a playtron I have had a great time at all of the faires I have visited. looking neg at something that has not even come to pass is silly, if all you look for is neg then thats what you will see. If old acts do not come back it leaves room for someone new, lets give them a chance as well. Emuzeki was awesome!! and I hope they can return. So lets all look fwd. to new things, and let Scott do his thing. I may even come back as cast if my schedule permits If I cannot I will be there to play as usual, and check out new acts with full support.

You tell 'em, Sara! Kick a$$!
Frankly, I'm getting tired of reading about everyone's negativity towards Larry and the other folks who make our Faire happen. It's retarded. I've been coming to GLMF for the past 8 years, and not once did I not enjoy myself. I don't care who the entertainment director is, as long as I'm THERE. Like Jinxy and a few others have said, it's the atmosphere that draws me to the place, not the entertainment. That's just an extra added bonus. I go because there's such great energy there that you still feel it in the off season. Now that's powerful.
All of this drama is partially the reason I don't post here that much, and it's the reason I don't join too many other online communities, such as MySpace or LiveJournal. I've got enough drama in my OWN life. I don't need to be listening to others complain about John or Larry or anybody else. So please, just stop it. Just deal with what has been dealt, grow up, and move on. It's not the end of the world...or our wonderful Faire, for that matter.

most everyone that goes to faire does not know what goes on behind the scenes. As a volunteer and season pass holder I have seen and heard alot of stuff that most are not privy to. As for our past ED he was a "nice" person but his diplomacy was not so good. As for our new ED he has been around the circuit for a long time and we need to support him. As for the owner of the faire he is a good and honest man and if anyone has a problem with him I will stand up for him. Black Knight hope you like the real cold weather because I have been in Michigan in the winter. Any of you that really love our faire need to come out and assist in preparation starting in April, otherwise just go to the pub and have a beer. So it be said, so it be done.

I have to agree with Pirate Dave here and would love to see more of our faire lovers out to help when cleanup starts. I understand work interfers for alot of us but just a few hours and you will walk away with a different feeling. Last year was a REAL mess for us and I can not tell you how lost I felt knowing I wasn't helping. I missed the energy I got from those weekends. And girls free gym time ;D

I helped out before Faire last year. Yes, it was hard work but I really enjoyed it. (Not so much my first day. Mud up to my knees!) It was fun to watch the changes being made, listening to cast rehearse, scrambling to clean kitchens before inspections. Carol brought us lunch and munchies, Bunny & Hank treated us to hot dogs & Larry served us up burgers. Visiting with each other while helping fix the grounds can as be as much fun as visiting during Faire.
I agree with Dave and Jen, until you REALLY know what goes on behind the scenes(which really isn't all that different than any other properly run business), don't say anything, just enjoy the Faire as you always have.

That's one of the best jokes I've ever heard. Obviously you don't know Larry Rickard.

I , until you REALLY know what goes on behind the scenes, don't say anything, just enjoy the Faire as you always have. Sorry. I can't agree with this idea. Anyone who pays their money to go to the faire, is entitled to their own opinion of things. And they are entitled to voice those opininions. Weather we agree wtih them or not.

Here's something to think about.... those of you who are saying, "Don't say anything, if you don't KNOW"...
Do you KNOW every single person who has worked behind the scenes for the last 15 years? I think not... Do you know the venders, the promotional advertisers, the kitchen workers, the acting cast, the actors that had to drop out half way through rehersals, the people who drove their kids to and from their shifts at the lemonaide stands, the people who raked leaves, those that ran the parking lot........ All of these people have informed opinions...
And for ANYONE to be telling ANYONE else what to do on Trevor's board is just rude.

I stand corrected. I didn't mean for it sound like you can't have an opinion, negative or good. I didn't mean to sound rude, sorry. I just meant, think before you type. Which is what I should have done.
