OK people, just a suggestion here for all of those wishing to participate in this game. I assume BeerBlessing will be the one holding onto the funds, so when you sign up maybe you should have the NAME and ADDRESS of the charity you would like the money to go toward so Dave can make out a check or whatever and send it off to them. There are a lot of deserving charities to give to, and Lord only knows what you might pick. And, well, if Dave can't locate them, well, the money could go toward the BUY DAVE MORE BEER FUND ;D ( just kidding ya bro.)
So give that some thought. HANK.

Good thinking, Hank. Altho in the case of no charity, or one that can't be found, the money will go to the 'default' charity, which is RESCU, the fund for Rennies in crisis, so either way, someone deserving will benefit.
And Farren, what's Broadway Cares? I'm curious................

Well Dill, that is exactly why I posted what I did. As Farren may be the only person who knows what that is. God knows I never heard of it. Are we talking Broadway Ave in Cleveland, or Broadway in New York? Is the money to help struggling actors or patch potholes? It may be a perfectly wonderful charity, but if no one know where they are, well it's kinda hard to send them any money.
As for me; my favorite charity is the "Help Hank pay his bills fund." Hey!! They say charity begins at home, right? HANK.
P.S. Just an after thought here Dave, but maybe you might want to consider making it a 50/50 deal, with half going to charity and the other half going to the winner. You may get far more participants if there is something for them to gain by doing it.

A few questions to answer..
1) In line for food is off-limits, for exactly the reason Dillasandra said. We do not want to disturb other patrons, or hold up a line by making a commotion. However, I am VERY open to removing the "eating in a food court" limitation, which means if you want to eat and be safe, you gotta to the Pickle Grove!
2) National charities are fairly easy to find info for. If they weren't easy to find, they wouldn't get as many donations after all!! If something other than a National charity, and you are the winner, I will ask for contact information. I won't really worry until this comes up, however, as there's time to hunt down an address. But if you do want to provide a website, phone number, or address, it couldn't hurt.
2B) And I concur with Dillasandra. If we absolutely cannot find the info for the chosen charity, we go to the default charity.
3) The way assignments will be made..
1) After noon on Friday, I will make a list of everyone playing, with pertinent information. 2) I will put all names in a hat, and draw a name. This person (#1) is the one getting the assignment. 3) I pull another name. This is #1's target. 4) I pull another name. This is #2's target. 5) Repeat unitl all names are drawn. The last person to be drawn has #1 as their target.
This creates a big circle of targets, of sorts. That circle shrinks as people get eliminated, until there is only one, or the game ends by time.
I truly HOPE that it gets to the point where there are two people who have each other as targets. It means they are the last two in the game, and it becomes very interesting to see who can pull off the win!!!! Huzzah for a duel!!! To first FELT!
Something else to keep in mind when thinking about the rules.. This game was originally to be played with small waterguns. We opted for the felt so there wouldn't be any "collateral damage" to other patrons. That makes in-line being off-limits make more sense.
If everything goes well, we could consider using SMALL water guns, which would be provided. But we need to make sure there aren't any snags, and that the rules work before we go that route. At least a stray squirt of water on a hot July day is better than a cheesy rat!

Dave, I know you're kidding there, but for anyone who may not......sorry, gang, but NO HIDING IN THE PICKLE GROVE TO EAT!!!!!!! Not that we don't love you, just that we haven't got enough space! Heck, the three of us are crowded in there as it is. Unless someone wants to crawl up under my skirts, and that'll be limited to males only, and then at my discretion! Remember, though, there is that 20 foot 'safe zone' AROUND the Grove........... Or if you have something really good to eat, in which case be warned....you'll have to share! ( And it IS possible to buy your way in to saftey with Godiva chocolates or other delicacies! ;D )

Count me in! You know my name and stuff. The charity I'd like it to go to is the Make A Wish foundation. Will have the funds first thing opening day. This is going to be interesting, providing enough people sign up. Hehehe...

Somehow I don't think chocolates would keep very well stuffed down my bodice..... ;D I might be helping out a vendor from time to time....if we're in a booth for part of the day, can we still play?

And to answer your question, of course you can play.

And to answer your question, of course you can play. Well, with the husband interested in playing (!!!), I'm thinking too much attention from the hot young lads could lead to a bit too much of this.... and perhaps this... . Yay! (I just emailed my vendor-friend to make sure she doesn't mind me running off to play.)

As long as it's just part of the day, no problem. This is why we include the Work Rule. Many of us are doing things to let us be at the Faire in the first place after all.
However, I would request that if you're working, work as normal. Not quite so fair if you are safe in your Work Haven, see your target, and say "Hey, I gotta take a ten minute break.."

Due to an impending "real life" possible job change, there's a chance I'll only be there opening weekend anyway... So like I said, I'm checking with her first.
