As for the Jack Sparrow wanna-bees, how about trying something new, be original instead of copying an on screen figure

Capt. Morgan - Pretty cool site. I especially like what it said about clean hair. (May get moldy)
I do agree with Pirate Dave about the wanna-bees. He , O'Rourke and Capt. Morgan look great without copying any one. There will be a lot of look a likes at Faire.
Be yourself and original.

I myself am working on being Davey Jones' wife this weekend. Threw myself off the cliff into the ocean when my beloved failed to return to me. Found him at the bottom of the ocean hangin with the mermaids at the bubble bar, that scoundrel!

Well...another Pirate Weekend has been left in the wake...to the looks of it, the "Sparrow" migration happened early this year as I only counted enough "Cap'n Jacks" for one hand...tho' the Barbosa was a nice addition. The weather was better than forecasted and now, we gear up to receive Owain...Damn! Now I'll really not move from that Pub!!! ;D

I have been thinking about creating a pirate character too. His name will be one of the club names I picked up in Hawaii. But if you folks will let me give this advice...
i can best explain this to you in a musicians terms... for a favorite musician you have (And you too being a musician... lets just say) you like this guys tone and sound. so the way i heard it is like this.
take his sound, gear, pickups, strings, etc, etc, etc. and use it as a basis for your own sound. you'll discover something small that makes a huge difference and eventually through the small changes youll come into your own and become original. i say this because the same can be said for creating a character.
I dont think anybody pays attention to me on the faire grounds but next time you see me, try and try and notice this if you will... I am doing a personal character study (for fun) on the Actor/Stuntman Kane Hodder... as Jason Vorhees. if you watch those movies and the way Kane does body movements like for example when he turns his head and then his body... anyway i am incorporating that in my own body language... just for the heck of it.
i wear the glasses. because it hides expressions in the face. therefore forcing me to use the rest of my body to create a language.
all right enough of my babbling. thats my two cents (more like two dollars)

I was original last week, I was an Elizabethian era pirate. I didn't have my own camera but I'm sure someone may have gotten a picture of me without notice.
