Hey guys. Please tone things down a little. We already had an issue with discussion like this.
Or at least move it to the general section.

Oh for crying out loud! There was nothing R-rated being discussed, it was all left to the imagination. (Just when I thought it was safe to come back to the board and have fun)

Okaaaaay.......I've taken a bit of time here between reading Trevor's post and actully responding, since my inital reaction was to just let rip and quite probably start another riot, which we REALLY don't need with Faire so close.
And no, Trevor, I'm not upset with you - it is, after all, your job to moderate here as you see fit, and after that last little bit of - well, WHATEVER it was- I can't blame you for being cautious.
Having said that, let me tell you, I am NOT looking forward to this year at all if that's going to be the tone of things!
Yes, I'm fully aware the the official scheme of things this year is more toned down and family friendly. Even if I don't like it personally, I've enough business savvy to realize that as the demographics go, so your business had better go if you want to keep making a profit! Sucks, but it's true. And so, tone it down we shall.
Not that I haven't ALWAYS gauged my audience. ANYONE with any sense, not to mention even a little experience, does it automatically. I'm a PICKLE Goddess, for gods sake - essentially, I work with a giant phallic symbol!! I'm ALSO a professional at what I do and I'm not about to say or do anything even vaguely off color if there are children around, or an elderly couple, or a gaggle of nuns....whatever! like I said, if you're any good at what you're doing, you learn to gauge quickly.......and I've been at this for a long time!
HOWEVER, I AM a PICKLE Goddess. I DO work with a giant phallic symbol. And a good deal of my success and popularity out there is , and always has been, based on some fairly off color material IN THE PRESENCE OF ADULTS. Which, last I looked, this board was primarilly made up of! It's who I am, it's what I do, and folks, I've got no intention of changing!
Trevor has asked that I confine my evidently too risque comments to the general board, and so I shall. An intentional trouble maker, I'm not. But I'll warn anyone so overly sensitive as to have been offended by them right now - don't bother upsetting yourself unnessairly by comming and hanging around the Pickle Grove, because, so far as I myself am concerned, ( and that's speaking strictly for myself..... you all are , as ever, absolutely entitled to your own opinion!) this whole " ooh, I'm SOOOO offended by that mildly off color comment" IN A PLACE WHERE YOU OUGHT TO EXPECT IT crap is pure bulls**t!! And people, I will NOT change my character, NOT change my act, and NOT bloody well censor myself in my own Grove!!!!!!!!! If you don't like it, don't come over!
There. You've been warned. It gets a little raunchy in the Grove, and, as well , anywhere the Goddess ( In OR out of character!) happens to be! (Barring, of course, the presence of children......despite the fact that I've gotten some of my best lines from totally innocent little mouths!!!) So, as the old saying goes," if you can't take the heat................"
( Yeah guys, the Goddess can get REAL cranky sometimes!!!)

What she said! And I would just like to mention that we often get our best lines from our customers, kids and adults!

True, too true!!! Tho I'm getting the distinct impression that our customers aren't the problem here - in fact, I don't belive there's EVER been a problem with a patron - so much as just a couple of evidently VERY easily offended people on the board.
MY problem is those people being allowed to set the tone for the rest of us!

Hey, you know me. I am all for a little fun. But I do want to keep this section (the GLMF section) family friendly. We actually have plenty of minors reading these board. (they only have to be 13 to sign up after all). And a lot of cast members tend to be younger. Also, while most of the posters tend to be older, we have a lot of members that read, but never post. So that gives a different perspective on the actual make-up of the board.
We had a bit of a dust up a while ago about members making comments about the attractiveness of some of the cast members. It's water under the bridge now, but I do want to avoid it again if possible.
Like I said in my post, if you want to continue, just move the discussion to the general board. It's only the actual GLMF section (and by extension general board announcements, as they are seen here) that I want to make sure to keep "family friendly". The logic behind that is that we get a lot of visitors that just read to see what is going on with the faire. Who the acts are, who will be at faire on which weekends, stuff like that. General faire information. Which is pretty much condensed into this section. The other sections are there for those of us that want to hang out and have a little fun. So, in the persuit of using this board to appeal to as wide an audience as possible to spread information to as many people as possible, I want to keep it as clean as possible.

Point taken, and I'll be keeping it strictly business on the GLMF site from now on.
But shouldn't those people have some idea that not everywhere on the Faire grounds is going to be "G" rated?

But shouldn't those people have some idea that not everywhere on the Faire grounds is going to be "G" rated? Shhhh! The idea is to get them sucked in first. Then we will convert them
