Well...we finally had a rain-less weekend...hot and humid as hell... The cast seemed to have been better prepared for the humidity.. The Shire rocked yet again! Nice busy weekend. I heard some of the vendors took a hit with the weather unfortunately. Maidens IV ROCKED!!!! I hope they accept John's offer for a full run...I thought they were here only one weekend, but according to thier website, they are here again 8/12-8/13. Cool! Ahem...John...can you give Owain the same sales pitch for next year? Oh...if any of the cast read this..start calling Prince John.. "Prince Poopy-Pants"...he made a snide comment at me (in character), so I plan to get even...

For anyone who doesn't know. Piper's Pub has Peach-berry Wine again. They don't have a sign for it, but I was bugging them about it on Saturday again, and much to my surprise they told me they got it back, but didn't have any signage for it yet. I spread the word to several others this weekend, but wanted to post here as well.
I really enjoyed Pirates Royal. Got a chance to catch them Sunday. Good songs, and they were very interesting characters. I also liked the mix with 2 males and 2 females. Was very surprised they didn't pass-the-hat though. I was more than ready to tip them, and they didn't have anything to put a tip in. I hope they come back next season. I would love to see them again!
Opperation Sparrow was hilarious as well. On Sunday, the jailors decided to go round up all the Jack Sparrow look-a-likes and put them in jail. There were only 2 on Sunday though (If they would have done it Saturday, I don't think the jail could have held them all) The 2 that were there, were very good though. They not only had the look, but also the speach and manerisms. So seeing them interact with eachother and the jailors was very interesting and funny.

Almost forgot something. It's kinda good and kinda bad. Went to Fryer Pluck's around 3:30 Sunday. Had been thinking about a turkey leg all day. Got there, and they were out Thought a little and settled on pulled pork for a second choice. They were out of that as well It was bad because I couldn't get what I wanted. But a good sign that things were busy and Sir Lawrence wouldn't have too much left over at the end of the day. In a related tidbit. I heard several people complaining about not being able to get lemonade at certain times of the day on Saturday. Seems they were selling it so fast, they couldn't keep up with demand. I also know that attendance on Saturday surpassed what we had on the previous Sunday (during Celtic Weekend). Not sure how it was this Sunday, but I am betting it was close to those numbers as well.

Maidens IV ROCKED!!!! I hope they accept John's offer for a full run...I thought they were here only one weekend, but according to thier website, they are here again 8/12-8/13. Cool! Oh good! I didn't have enough money to pick up their CD this past weekend; if they're here again, I'll make sure to put aside the money for the CD. They were amazing! I was very pleasantly surprised. Ahem...John...can you give Owain the same sales pitch for next year? If only! But Owain's booked for other faires and I believe one of them is his home faire. It's not so much a case of whether or not our faire is willing to hire him for the full run; it's more an issue of Owain being too popular.

Can someone from cast confirm whether Maidens IV will be back? I know what their website says, but I would rather have confirmation from John.
FYI...they will also be performing at Yankee Peddler festival in Canal Fulton, OH. That is another cool festival of another era...

Regarding the last weekend, yes, they will be back, as far as I know. I'm certain I heard that news Sunday during the faire day, so I feel comfortable confirming that we'll get to enjoy their amazing music one more weekend. I'm excited

Joe. If you look in the program, they are listed as July 29,30 and Aug 12,13. So that should be pretty official.
Don't forget, Minsterel Wood will be playing this coming weekend.

I will. Would have this weekend, but between the heat, and all the visitors that I was hanging around with, just ran out of time.

I always get a program so I know what events I want to see... of course if the event you want is not actually in the program then it doesn't help much does it.
