Well first, lets get through the rest of this season. I am sure John already has ideas for next season.

I second (or was that third?) the kudos to Greg the Ogre. He has such quick responses to comments about his simply lovely appearance (I asked Saturday about the sores in his feet -said it was vents to let out the hot air!). I love the comments to and about kids. Great work!
But I've seen so much interaction this year, with faces I do and do not recognize from before. Fantastic work, all of you, under difficult weather conditions. How do you do street work, act like you're just thrilled to be there playing, when you're in hot garb, in the sun and rain. KUDOS!!!

I think I speak for a whole lot of us, when I say, we honestly ARE thrilled to be there playing. This is how I choose to spend my days off, for nearly 6 months. And it's the magic of the place, and the people (that means all you folks) and it leaves an impression on you. I'm more poor than I should be considering I live an hour and a half away, but I'm happy. So thank you for your kudos, we give kudos to all of you that come out and play with us when it is a million and a half degrees or sopping wet, because you all complete the picture. This is my home, this is your home, this is our home. And there's no where in the world I'd rather be. -Kara Anne

Oh, Fanny, how eloquent! And graciously said since we "playtrons" (i.e. GLMF junkies who spend our entire summers there!) don't think we're there to give like you are. How many patrons who visit Avaloch go for a place to hang out, or to get drunk, or to laugh a little, and don't know what they are missing by not becoming involved. That, after all, is why I'm always there - I've indeed found my family.
Anyone remember Fool Hearty? Wish I could remember her name, but I vividly remember that lovely lady greeting everyone as "cousin." That's what you all are to me.
Okay, gotta stop before I have to get out the hankie....**Snuffle****

Hey all - just a quick "Thank You!" or two. * Thanks for the compliments. I/We do this to entertain and make others laugh, and by doing so have a ton of fun ourselves. I'm having a ball playing "ogre", and it is great to hear that others are enjoying him too. * Thanks for being there to play and laugh with us, despite weather, finances, etc. Faire is often like a big second family. Kara did say it very eloquently, and I couldn't improve on that - I just want to second the sentiment.
Finally - keep looking for the ogre. I'm planning a couple of more/bigger bits for him, if I can pull them off. If I can't, try to stop me to say hello anyway. Thanks!
- Greg / Ralph

I always look for the ogre! He's the best! But if I can get serious for one moment, (yeah, one is all I can muster), I send a hearty note of thanks to the entire cast -- everyone is just doing a wonderous job!

The Ogre is awesome! As to Charlotte Templeton, she is just one of several that are no longer with us. I updated the cast page Saturday night and noted which ones aren't around anymore. Then Sunday I found I need to add another one. Will get that done tonight hopefully.

Just because I found one more thing I can't do on the streets, yet am still vastly entertained by my own sparkling wit. (Sorry, just thinking about her brings Olga out to play)
For your entertainment, and just because I really had to...
Iiiiiiiiin West Nastonia, born and raised 'Round the manor's where we spent most of our days Chillin' out, maxin', relaxin' all cool, Shooting some peasants outside by the pool When a couple of dudes with mighty big axes Started making trouble asking for our taxes We got in one little fight and they got mad Said "you're living with Prince John and nobles in England" We begged and pleaded with them on that day But they left us our lives and sent us on our way They gave us nothing but the clothes on our backs I put on my jewels and grabbed some rats for snacks First class, oh, this is bad, Drinking mead out of heavy pewter Is this what the people of England livin' like, Hmm, this might be our new life! But wait I hear the prissy, bushwa and that sort Is this the kind of place we're now to consort? I don't think so. It's like I'm in a lock I hope they're prepared in stanky Avaloch! The carriage alighted and when I came out There was a dude, looked like a cop, Standing there with our names out We ain't tryin' to get arrested, von Spudnik's just the fam But there looking pissed is the Sheriff of Nottingham. Well, I whistled for a horse, and when it came near, It soon was apparent the steed had never seen a mirror. If anything I thought that this mount looked tasty But I thought, nah, forget it, "Onward to the castle" We pulled up to the palace about seven or eight, And I called to the stable boy, "Ahem. Smell thee later." Looked up at the kingdom, we were finally here, To steal John's throne as the von Spudniks appear.
