Hello Friends,
I know many of you posting here, and just wanted you to hear my first thoughts posted about faire in over 3 monthes.
I think it is obvious that there are some rumers going about and some are true and some are not. I have held my tongue on all issues up to this point, even though I know much.
I feel that no matter how bad things look, from inside this house or from out, The Faire is ment to be a magical place where we can go and escape from the crap of real life. I feel that acting like a professional and trying to deal with our problems quietly behind closed doors is not only the best choice but the only fair one to you our loyal friends. So I will remain quiet until I feel that I can do no more to help the situation.
For those who have commented and spoken out, I can only say that the abundant level of personal and professional insults has driven many of the less patient to speak their mind. I do not blame anyone or call foul or fair. Emotions have been hurt, and little reguard for past friendships has been taken into account. For now this must bide the time and see what the result is.
I must comment on a few things, and I hope to sound only faire and impartial.
1) I have known Larry for over 11 years, and I have never met a person harder working and more willing to sacrifice to make other people happy in my life. This Faire is not only Larry's job, it is his dream. He works very hard and has for many years to make it the best place possible. Please do not let one person or one situation spoil the whole Faire. There are many people including myself who love this so much. The only way one person can ruin this faire is if YOU let them. The faire is a culmination of many people and many things. Something so massive and dynamic cannot fail unless everyone jumps on the bandwagon and feeds the curruption. Voice your opinions and speak your mind freely, but please always hope for the best.
2) I promise to always make choices and work toward making the Faire a better, more wonderful place. I cannot always promise to be in a position to effect change and fufill that promise, but I will always try. I have been with the faire for 11 years, and I have entertained our patrons as best I could. No matter what, I will try to continue with that which I love to do.
3) Remember if it's not fun you are doing it wrong.
Thanks for your time.
