What? Penfold planning pucking previous to faire? Yes.
There was talk last season of moving the unofficial tournament to an earlier spot in the run so the winners would have time to bask in the glow of their win.
I'd like to do that.
This means, however, that I'd like to plan the exact holes sooner rather than decide them partway through the run.
I know, I know, me saying such a thing is true madness, but bear with me here.
With the various things I will be doing this year, the unofficial tournament will need some help. We either need to plan it to be short or plan it with a break in the action.
I believe shortening our fun is unfair to the players.
I believe a break in the fun may be more appropriate.
This can be done three ways:
1. Half the holes in the morning and half in the afternoon.
2. Half the holes on Saturday and half on Sunday.
3. Quarter holes sections morning and afternoon, two days.
I think the first would be more enjoyable for all and keeps the tourney to one day for those that cannot, for whatever crazy reason, be there for two. ;D
Either way, this means that between my standard wanderings and things I must do during my faire day, I will need major help in the first weekend to find, play and plan the holes for the touney.
Oh, and I hope to bring back the tokens this year.
I really enjoyed giving those out the first year and would like to come up with some traditional item to provide to all you puckers out there that play in the tourney.
In the end, it all depends on time and monies, which I lack both of more often than not.
Thoughts on any of this?
