I just wanted to take a moment and say thanks to an amazing person. I have known John Davis for almost 15 years, and in that time he has helped me grow as a person and as a performer. He along with Spencer Humm were both incredible influences in my early days as a performer, and a responsible for helping me to be the entertainer I am today. Beyond that I have had the privilege of having him as my director this past season, and I cannot say enough about what a phenomenal experience it was to work with him in this way. I know that some people think that John has had a positive influence on the Faire in general; I think many people underestimate the scope of his influence. The man leads by example; he is kind, open hearted, positive, inspiring, brilliant, and generous with compliments. He, by his very presence and support, brings out the best in people. I do not think that there is one aspect of this show that he has not touched and made better. I would like to give my personal thanks and appreciation to what he has done for the Faire this year. Not to take away from the awesome efforts of all the people involved in the show this year, but I cannot think of any other single person who has done so much to bring back the magic of this show.
Thanks John
Sincerely Sean Seaber

I agree wholeheartedly. I had the opportunity to chat with John on several occasions during the season. It was wonderful and refreshing the way he wanted candid feedback on the things going on during the season. And the complete turn around in the atmosphere in the shire i attribute mainly to his influence. Last season, he stopped the skid and started the turn around. This season he came through in a big way. With the entertainment. With the cast. With the productions. And with the promos. The magic was truely back. And I can honestly say this was the best season I have experienced in my scant 6 years of faire.

We're all trying to give words to an insubstantial...a feeling/atmosphere/energy... but let's keep trying! Like many others, I'm an "old timer" having attended this fair since its second season, and this season felt like my first time (I hear a song comin' on!). Seriously, there was a joy, playfulness, lightness in the air that has been missing for so long. John, I can hear you now saying "it's not all me!" but it had to start somewhere. Once started, the joy and positivity just cannot be stopped. And I think there was enough of that energy to permeate the very ground we walked on!
My tears yesterday were not of grief. Some sadness, yes, for the special magic we all had this year. And because of knowing my summer play-time is gone for the year (but the friendships are not!). But most were of joy and delight that Avaloch rose from the mists in such splendor. Dare I say it? Like a phoenix, up from the ashes!
to John Davis: Hip Hip... Hip Hip... Hip Hip...

All of the following apply... Remember the difference between a boss and a leader; a boss says "Go!" - a leader says "Let's go!" ~E.M. Kelly
The leadership instinct you are born with is the backbone. You develop the funny bone and the wishbone that go with it. ~Elaine Agather
Nothing so conclusively proves a man's ability to lead others as what he does from day to day to lead himself. ~Thomas J. Watson
Leaders don't create followers, they create more leaders. ~Tom Peters
A good leader is a person who takes a little more than his share of the blame and a little less than his share of the credit. ~John C. Maxwell
Inside my empty bottle I was constructing a lighthouse while all the others were making ships. ~Charles Simic
To lead the people, walk behind them. ~Lao-TzuJohn...thank you for your Leadership, your humor, your zest for life and your spark of the Divine that has lit other sparks to shine brightly as well...

I agree with Sean a million percent. What a difference John's leadership has made. The seed has been planted and I hope next year shows the growth of his positive reinforcement.
Sean...give yourself a pat on the back as well. It was nice to see you and Jen back in the shire and the passion you two have for performing. Both of your experience and quiet leadership helps the newer cast members as well.
And...if possible...bring back The Burlap Brothers! I keep hearing excellent things about the old act!
An email I got from Jenny of Emuzeki:
"The entire experience was positive and we would like to return.
Thanks again for your support, Jenny"

I would like to thank all of you for your kind words. I would like to say, however, that nothing could or would have been achieved without the fine work of the production staff and the cast. I am a firm believer that for something to become reality there needs to be a chef and many cooks. It may be the chef's recipe but without the cooks working on the same recipe nothing will happen. I have been blessed this past season with many wonderful cooks. Some on the production staff and some not, but all on the same page in the cookbook. I thank all of them for supporting the vision and for their friendship. I also would like to thank you guys here on Trevor's board. You have been a wonderful sounding board and support for what we were doing. I thank all of you. Together we restored alot of it's former greatness.
