Yeah SirGeoffrey, This place is becoming The Great Lakes Medieval Playground! The thing is, a lot of these folks like Hepz. and Maid Marion come quite a distance for faire. So it is foolish to drive 60 or 70 (or more) miles home on Saturday night when you're dead tired to turn around and drive right back to faire on Sunday morning. So they come hang out at our place, relax, talk, share a few laughs, get some much needed sleep, and in the morning they are only a few minutes away from faire. Get to sleep later that way! This has been going on for 3 years more or less. It's been fun. HANK.

Haven't really thought about costume. Been busy with my only daughters wedding and faire site clean-up. Oh if I where split in two.
It IS FANTASTIC what Hank and Bunnie Do for all of us. You know from us how appreciated you are. And Maid Marion if you can do it the Very early hours of the morning are great.(5sh or 6sh) Blissful.

Rehearsals, trying to find props (I still need a plush cow, pig, sheep, horse, dog, and rat...), working on costume, plotting out possible bits, saving money for more props and faire stuff, cleaning out my mug (which has been sitting unused and unwashed since last faire season - ewwwww), looking desperately for some sort of footwear... fun stuff like that. And yes, Hank and Bunny are awesome. ^_^

For the plush props....you might want to try oriental trading company. (http://www.orientaltrading.com) they have pretty cheap prices on these types of things. Most of their items are purchased in bulk (i.e. by the dozen, gross, etc.).

-washing/airing out garb (you don't even want to KNOW where some of it was... ) -breaking in a new pair of shoes -hemming a new skirt -hunting for stories I can tell to kiddies.....something I've toyed with for years. I have some little friends who may be coming to the faire this year, so if I can get them to listen to a story, who knows, maybe I can collect a little herd of kids....see what comes of it (I know, crazy, right? Hey, I'm a librarian). -listening to my Faire iPod mix over and over and over and over....... -willing my hair to grow faster. No more Amish hats this season!

i'm a bit further away from faire than Hank and Bunnie-but am also opening my doors to any friends in need of a weekend home.

I have my god daughter and her sister coming over today to get costumes together. This will be their first time at the faire. I've gotten all the parts of my costumes aired and washed, boots cleaned and waterproofed. I wanted to come help with clean up this year but health issues and surgery took opportunity away. Next year i will be there to help. Cant wait to see all of you.
