for all who didn't know, I am JJ, I play Paige Wayneright: daughter of the Duke. My greatest desire was to be a knight bannerette (actually just a knight in general). At closing gate, HER majesty knighted me before HIS majesty could refuse. I am now Sir Paige Wayneright....cower in fear!!!!!

I think that would make you DAME Paige Wayneright? I think.....A female who becomes knighted becomes a Dame....right?

It doesn't matter anyway. The day resets So even if you were knighted on the first day of faire, on the second day you would be back to just a page again. [na na nana na]

I don't buy that, once a knight always a knight, Think of all those kids that are knighted by the king, you shouldn't take away their dreams.
I don't know about the cower part though

Oh, that doesn't count for paytrons. Only cast Last season was the only season that things did not reset. It's just like when Penfold was named the royal woo-er. That title was for that day only. When we came back the following weekend, he was just the rat catcher again.

Not quite, actually, Trevor. ^_~ We were doing only partial groundhog day this year. So only some stuff reset, generally just major plot stuffs. A lot of character-specific stuff didn't reset. For instance, Rusty and Anastasia getting married (or rather, Anastasia getting Rusty drunk and then tricking him into marrying her...) stuck through the last two weekends. So the "Sir Paige Waynewright" might've stuck.

We will have to wait until the king pops in here and get a ruling then.
JJ will just have to squirm until then ;D

On an opinion note, the best performance is a reset performance. Why? Because the people that come the days after day number one (or whichever) have no idea what occurred on the previous days. Hence they should be allowed to see the performance as initially created on the first day. It can all get quite confusing and rather idiotic after awhile if you don't. Think about it for Penfold a moment. Becoming the Royal Wooer would mean I had proximity when near the court. Which would mean anyone beneath those that enjoyed my woos (ladies in waiting and THE QUEEN) would fear me for I would have their ear when they were nearby. And if you think for one moment that Penfold would not have taken advantage of that like a demon in a confessional priest's clothing, you better think again. That is why the reset is, in my humble ratcatching opinion, a good idea. Either way, Saturday, I'm sleeping in and relaxing. No one is gonna "Get thee down" to me until Labor Day weekend. And even then, you never know WHO will show up when you travel abroad.

On the Dame subject, true normally I'd be Dame, But I'm supposedly the first female knight. Her majesty wasn't sure: so I'm Sir Page Wayneright. Trevor, sorry, but if I was knighted during first weekend, it would've stuck; sort of like my marriage to Hob.

Once again.... I know it was just a bit.... and it's great...no matter what you call yourself....but technically speaking The Queen doesn't have the authority to "Knight" or "Dame" unless the King is either dead or away at war... in this case King Arthur was there....so "technically" you have to get HIM to knight you next time

Hey all! My opinions on this : 1) I think Christine is right, only the King can do the knightings normally. But, I didn't protest after Gwen borrowed Excalibur, because I thought "Why not? It's the final gate on the final day." So I let it stand. 2) Yep, again Christine is right, you would be "Dame" Paige Wayneright. "Sir" is non-sensical, despite your new status as a knight-bannerette. If you insist on trying to keep the "Sir", I'll use my kingly rights and just change your whole name to "Dame Talksalot Atthreeam". 3) I think JJ & Dani are right in that if it had happened earlier in the run it would have stuck. But it couldn't have happened earlier in the run, because that would have fulfilled Paige's character passion, which we almost never do. The characters we develop are *meant* to be sort of stuck in place. They have something they want (their passion) and most of their actions are geared toward accomplishing that goal. It is the drama and comedy of trying to accomplish that goal that makes an interesting character. If that goal were reached, the drama would end, and the character would wither and fade from the audience's view until they find a new passion. It takes months of rehearsals to figure out what our character passions are and how to portray them on the street - it can't be done correctly "on the fly" out in the street. Hence, passions are generally NOT fulfilled by the end of the day. 4) I largely agree with Brian - I think we should just have "Groundhog Day" senarios, mostly for the above reasons (both Brian's and mine). 5) JJ, I think you did an awesome job, and if you come back next year I expect you will just keep improving. Greg

"Greg at 3 a.m.!" "It's THREE in the MORNING. PEOPLE are TRYING to SLEEP. SHUT UP and GO TO BED!"
