Saturday was wondrous! The weather was beautiful. Spent most of the day at Stumble Inn steeping ourselves in AnamChara & Menagerie--stayed for pub sing for the first time so we could see them together and had a great time. Bought John & Lizzie's new release. Went to the Brew Ha-ha!, which Brian promptly dubbed the "Brew? No No!", (the advertised $1 ale has morphed into $2 Miller Lite. If you see a spot of dead grass outside the feast hall doors, that where the tankard was dumped ) Otherwise, the party was great fun. Generous helpings of companionship, entertainment, and food. My main goal for Sunday was to get in place by 11 so I could FINALLY see rat pucking. We made it, but the players were sidelined with friends who wanted to visit so our little band wandered away and caught the tail end of the Ariel Angels, who were very entertaining. Brian and I finally caught up with the puckers later in the day and it was worth the chase. Watching the game was fun, but watching and listening to the people in the lanes was a real hoot! Sadly, the late nite Sat and the early start Sun meant we had to leave before the combined Angels/Bardic Wind show at 6. I'll bet it was great!

Ok, I have lots of thoughts, so this will probably be a long rambling post. Feel free to skip it if you wish. The weather both days was great. About the best you can expect for this time of year. The shire was full and lots of fun to be had. Bummed about missing the Barbarians at the Brew-ha-ha, but we were just too wiped out to stay any longer Had fun pucking all weekend though it did really eat into the days. Saw some really interesting things Krusty got married One of the oxen got locked up in jail. The 2 jailers got locked in the jail The Barbarians singing the man song by the pub Sunday night after everyone left. People chasing a rooster Sunday night after everyone left Penfold walking on a gypsies back. Ariel Angels rocked! And I have a feeling there is a really good chance they will be back again next season Everyone seemed to be in good spirits this weekend. Which always helps make things enjoyable. The combined Bardic - Angels show was awesome! Johnny and the WWWenches at Pub Sing were too much Sunday

I caught an Owain Phyfe show with the barbarians on Saturday, and it was a hoot! And I simply HAD to stick around for pub sing to hear Owain sing "A Health to the Company" -- his added verse always makes me think of my grandad, who passed last spring. Oh, and I rather impulsively spent my last $20 bill on one of his CDs, so I can listen to him all the time!! ;D
Didn't see a *lot* of the Angels, but I was really impressed by what I *did* see. I also had a nice chat in Olive's garden with their dulcimer player -- very cool guy! And it was neat having TWO dulcimer players for the pub sing (Angels' musician and Lizzie). I took a pic or 2.
Very cool to have Anam Chara back.
Although I didn't manage to protest the rat pucking...it was a lot of fun to watch. Hmm, maybe I should be the rat cheerleader instead......
It was great to see the shire bustling with so many patrons!!
Glad to hear the combined show (Bardic Wind/Arial Angels) went well. (I couldn't be there Sunday.....boo-hoo......)

Due to outside circumstances, I was only able to visit Faire thrice this year, and I must say it got better every time! I went morning for the first day, and spent full days this past weekend. This weekend was so great, especially with Anam Chara there and so many people I worked with on cast last year who came back to visit and who are there again. Actually getting to watch the shows is really pretty neat, and I must send love out to Dan/Crusty, who pulled my unsuspecting newbvisitor friend onstage at the mud show and made my day. The chess match is looking much better now, as well. I watched it once every day I went (couldn't deprive the people I went with of the fight ), and by Sunday only one fight still looked like it was being marked. A lot of the new cast members were a lot looser as well and much more interactive, I noticed. Highlights of this weekend included: seeing everyone again, most for the last time for a year; investing in some new Dreamshoes (which I adore and will probably wear through before Pittsburgh faire even begins); dancing with the lady mayor and the peasants and playing blind man's bluff both days; Piper's Pub; watching my friends' reactions to some of the things that mildly scarred and scared them; ANAM CHARA; not having to care when people broke branches (or yelled out treedom! [thanks for that, Trevor... blasted reflexes]) in front of me; and just the general feeling, again, of returning home. It was with a heavy heart I left last night, and I miss it all already. Best wishes for a phenomenal closing weekend, wish I could be there with you all.

No problem Gwengalo Your reaction to that in the middle of a conversation to your friend was priceless. It will be one of my many fond memories from this season. So glad you got to come and play and enjoy yourself.

This weekend was the best so far for us in soooo many ways.
The weather was the best without doubt.
The theme acts where so good. Us being up North would never be able to see the Ariel Angles at a faire at least in our parts. Thanks for bringing them in to us Axel and Brook.
Ana Charma well they should know they are wanted back again and if some don't .........HELLOOOOO.
I am so loving the different acts comming in.
But yes we still need our backbone acts
