Today was the first opening day in 13 years of GLMF that I was not there.
I hope it was everything that we all hoped it would be.
Until later.

Today was the first opening day in 13 years of GLMF that I was not there. I hope it was everything that we all hoped it would be. Until later. Everything we HOPED it would be? No...rather...everything we suspected it would be... Apart from seeing my Ren. Faire family and performers(which does my heart glad more than I can say!) the Faire was as we suspected (or feared)...Wish I could say different...but, alas, I can not... You were sorely missed, my friend...the "magic" of Avaloch seems to have been locked away with you and the others...

Oh, Papa [wipes away a tear....deep sighing breath]....HOW we missed you and your friends! Tis as if I've gone to the home of family members for a nice long visit, only to find that the family has moved. The folk staying there are nice enough, but there are only few of them, and they're not FAMILY.
After only one day at Faire, I will not just hastily. Opening day is always rather a rehearsal, with real guests (well, some anyway!). I enjoyed what I saw. I enjoyed what I heard. I'll be more specific about that after today (yes, I'm still home at 10:30 after spending a badly needed morning SLEEPING).
And so, KNOWING that we will eventually cross your paths again, I remain..... Your affectionate Hawise.
