OK, if I won't be working for Fiona, I need to figure out what days I NEED to be at the Faire. I live in Erie, so between ticket prices and gas, I just can't afford to visit every weekend. So, here's my "must-see" list:
1) OWAIN. I remember hearing he will be at GLMF the last three weeks - is this still the case?
2) The Rogues (2nd weekend only?), or another similarly raucous and toe-tapping musical group with pipes and drums.
3) A really, REALLY fun pub sing. (I know, they're all great and you really can't know in advance what craziness will occur....)
Other than that, the theme weekends aren't as big a deal to me....everything is great and I can find stuff to do/people to watch/etc regardless.
So, how would you all suggest I get the most "bang for my buck"? I see me at the Faire maybe twice this year.....at most 3 times. I'll buy the discount tix at Giant Eagle, and that will be less than a season pass.....

Thanks, BK. The GLMF website schedule shows Owain for 3 weeks....I should have known better than to put any faith in that. *sigh* But that's OK, I like AnamChara too, and assuming the schedule is correct, they will be there the 5th week (Italian Carnivale). So that works nicely.... Now if I could just get my friend to reschedule her wedding so I can catch the Rogues on the 9th-10th.

I belive his not being there is a recent change.
Here is a quote from Morgan from another thread. Explaining where Owain will be final weekend.

angel- Sorry for the late reply....but I can't go this weekend (7/2-3) anyway. Feel free to post or PM if you decide to go another weekend...maybe we can work something out!
As for the discount tix, Giant Eagle sells tix for $2 less than the gate price. Last year, the store on upper Peach did this, the one on Buffalo Road did not. I'm not sure which stores are participating this year - just ask at the service desk.
Hope you had fun!!

3) A really, REALLY fun pub sing. (I know, they're all great and you really can't know in advance what craziness will occur....) The craziness just happens. If we can get a little more time (!) maybe it will happen a more! The Pub Sing has been cut back to 1/2 an hour & they've added a scripted cast thingie in the middle. That's cutting back on a lot of craziness.

Last year's pub sings were so wild! I always had tears in my eyes. I wish it went back up to an hour...you never knew what to expect! The dancing was a lot of fun too ^_^

1/2 hour for pub sing? Guess I don't feel so badly abput not staying for it last weekend. Is this to encourage us to head over to the extra-price thingy? Don't mind me. I just found out we may not be able to come this weekend and I'm not in the best of moods.

Is this to encourage us to head over to the extra-price thingy? Not that I know of. Pub Sing was scheduled like this long before they knew about the after-hours at the feast hall. I heard it was to keep things moving and to help make sure things ended at 7. Last season things rarely wrapped up anywhere near on time. [shrug] I didn't mind
