Well, I don't have any details for you, but I'm sure the people training you will. As far as what to do. Drink plenty of fluids, interact, and have fun. Oh yeah, before I forget, welcome to the boards. If you want to get an idea what the faire is like, feel free to browse some pictures of past faires at my site. tylisaari.com/medieval/medieval.htm(which can also be reached by clicking on the banner at the top of the page) I'm sure others will be along soon to give you some more pointers as well. I have never been cast so I don't know how all the inner workings go.

I am Page Wayneright, daughter of the Duke (Bob). I am messenger to the king, and the town gossip. I am a total tomboy, and I get to carry around a dagger. Also I get to wear pants! yay!

Renboots! All the boots are made out of cow or pig leather and have a 5 year guarantee, so if anything goes wrong..you get a new pair! They have recently changed companies and have all new soles on them too...

Yes, last year we had quite a few people come back with the heels coming off. When we were in Florida in December 95% of the boots had the new soles, so I'm pretty sure by July they will all be from the new company. You can order off their website if you like... www.renboots.com

JJ, this is Papa.
I want to wish you the best of experiences you can have. There is no better place than to be on the streets of Avaloch. When you're there, people believe in you - you can alter the destiny of the world, change the outcome of major world events, your words can inspire a nation of people to join your cause, and you can teach (and learn from) every soul that you come in contact with.
It can be scary on that first day, with 8,000 people milling about you, and suddenly they are looking at you. But don't let that shake your confidence, because they as much as your cast-mates are there to support you and catch you if you fall. Never doubt the ability of these patrons to step up and fill in the blanks when the words don't seem to come to you fast enough.
Remember - when you are out there on the streets, no matter how much training you have or how many times you ran the 'yes and' excercise or how often you have practiced your bits, that it is your imagination that is the key to everything. There are no boundaries to what you can do or achieve when you walk the streets of Avaloch, because there is magic there.
It's in the trees, the flowers, the birds, the squirrels, the buildings, and every villager, be they cast, vendor, or independant. That magic flows from the ground and is infused in the very air, and as long as you believe in it, then every person you come in contact with - no matter whether you talk to them or not, they will feel it to.
This tiny village has been my home for 12 years, and I have had the unique honor of playing some very special roles on its streets. And that doesn't mean just the big parts, like the King or Merlin. Don't doubt the ability of the lowest character out there to be the brightest gem in the crown that is the Shire of Avaloch.
You are embarking on an amazing voyage of imagination, excitement, self-discovery, and a little bit of magic - I hope that it holds for you all the joy and pleasure it has brought to me for 12 years - and when you feel that joy, don't forget to share it with everyone you meet. It's that synergy that makes the magic of Avaloch.
Good luck, and may Avaloch be a brighter place for your eager enthusiasm.
Yours, Balthazar Kiral Beshalde, Papa
