Greetings once again, friends of the GLMF! A new year has begun, and opportunities abound to start over fresh and make things better than ever. And we at Bob's Wonder (Tom and I) have a shining new opportunity to stop postponing the release of Age of Avaloch.
Regretfully, our film still will not be ready to ship out for at least a few more months. Our schoolwork has proven more of a burden than we thought, and editing down 50+ hours of footage is not an easy task to begin with. On top of that, our ideas for the final product are still becoming more ambitious. We love this film, and we want it to be the best we can possibly make it. It's our goal to preserve the magic of the faire so that it can always be enjoyed during the off-season. But it will take time.
We are still not in a position to make any promises. But take comfort:
1. A trailer will be posted on the internet around February or so (we'll post a link on this message board).
2. The DVD will have special features to appeal to smaller, fringe groups of the faire. We have too much excellent footage to put into the film but that doesn't mean you should miss out on something you might want to see.
Do not expect the cost to go up. We are still aiming for $5 per disc.
3. The DVD will probably be ready to ship by April.
If you are interested in owning a copy of Age of Avaloch but haven't preordered yet, please contact me at cmmccue@syr.edu. Your shipping address and money will NOT be requested until we finish the film.
Thanks for your patience. I know it's not fun to wait, but it should be worth it.
Sincerely,
Christopher McCue
