This season is shaping up to be annoying and disappointing at this current point in time.
First, I am looking at a lot of road construction between me and faire this summer. There is that roundabout BS happening at 307 and 534. And the bridge is still out, so that detour isn't an option. There is going to be resurfacing on I90 supposed to start somewhere around the Geneva exit.
Then both the Plunder Dogs, and Axel have announce their retirements. So I have no clue what we are going to have as far as entertainment this upcoming season. Entertainment was pretty slim last season, losing two performers is going to make a big difference if they don't bring in more acts.

Trevor. If I may suggest an alternate route to get to faire. From home, take I-90 West to the Route 45 exit. Take Rt 45 South about 7 or 8 miles till you come to beautiful Rock Creek, Ohio. (Don't blink, ya might miss it) At the traffic light turn right onto Footville Richmond Rd. Follow that West about 6 miles or so until you come to the stop sigh at Ohio Route 534. Turn right. you are now about 1/2 mile South of the faire entrance.
I would also check ODOT district 4 (Ashtabula county) to learn if those bozos are planning any other road fouling up projects that may cause you grief.
As for the entertainment, Looks like Father Time is catching up with our ole butts. In addition to losing Axel and the Plunder Doggs, menagerie will be missing, Capt. Stout is no longer there, Washing Well Wenches, have to wait and see on that one.

microsurfacing on 45 from April to September. I believe that is a little bit further south though. Supposed to be from the county line to south Orwell.

Yeah, the announced on FB that they are retiring from the road. Going to concentrate their efforts on the puppet show stuff.
Lots of our favorite performers have been doing this for decades now. Life on the road takes it's toll and at some point it's better to enjoy life at home.

If the microsurfacing you speak of is from the Ashtabula co line South that is WAAAAAY past where you will be driving. The Ashtabula/Trumbull co line is a couple miles South of US Route 322.
