That's right, I dragged out the St. Crispian's day speech from Henry the 5th.
Well, getting a head start on the next weekend thread because I am stupid busy until I get there on Saturday. (with top-secret projects for several of you)
Weather: Hot with 20% chance of rain saturday so prep for muggy nasty uncomfortable sun. It's gonna be in the 90's so dress light (kilts and white shirts seem smart and theme appropriate.
It's gonna be mid 80's and 60% chance of rain Sunday so prepare to be wet. (maybe extra garb to change into in the car) umbrellas, treated leather jerkins to shed rain and light cloaks.
Everybody forgets that despite the temps, when you get soaked and stop moving around you get chilled. watch out for that.
Talked to the Highland crew before leaving, I would expect another special event at the joust in the afternoon. (this is also the anniversary weekend for Patrick and his Ewe)
As for me... I think I am looking forward to a rain day in the faire. Fun stuff happens when people get soaked and quit caring about being pretty. Silly stuff happens when there are puddles about and the street cast is starting to really get out and about with the new blood finally learning a few tricks so let's give them a push and some support.
and as always, I will have at least a couple of games to play if we get stuck under a tent someplace in a downpour, feel free to ask me to teach you how to play.

Not sure how long I'll be there Saturday (possibility of OT at work)... but Sunday will be, as always, all day, Rain or shine.
I do enjoy a good rain day now and again...

It was a most excellent day at faire today. There were new acts to check out, and listen too. Lots of old friends making their first appearance at faire to see. Of course there were all the usual friends that we see every day. The weather was on the hot side, but thankfully there were lots of cooling breezes. Large crowd that was in a good, festive mood. Plenty of fun to enjoy, and shenanigans to get into. And a rockin' Pub Sing to close out the festivities.
The ride home was very quiet, as we were both just very content. It was like the perfect balance of great stuff, to make it a completely fulfilling experience.

Cudugh, the pipe band is very excellent. Go see them. I delivered my secret project (code-named "Little Boy") to the Beer Priest. And he seemed to enjoy playing with little boy the rest of the day make sure you stop him and join the contest.

over all, this was a really, really good week. lots of fun, lots of silliness going on, lots of laughter. It was very much as good or better than any of the "old days" you hear us cranky vets griping about.
I don't know where the energy came from but it was infectious. everybody seemed to get into it and pub sing felt like pub sing.
On a personal note, I probably overdid it on saturday a bit and woke up sunday in a world of hurt. That left me no choice but to spend sunday a little more low-key than usual and I know I missed a lot of fun chances for it but still had more than a full day of entertainment and friendship.
Kudos to Patrick for his Rose stunt, Kim for playing along, Dan for rolling with it, Bob for strapping on the armor for the best joust of the year (so far), and Danielle for being in the right place at the right time to inspire something that will be keeping me busy the rest of the week.

I know what you mean. Sunday was just as awesome as Saturday was. Just in different ways. Which made it even better.
I didn't think I did that much over the weekend, but it really took something out of me. I'm still trying to recover. The past 2 days at work I have been in zombie mode, and it's been all I can do to get out of bed in the morning. It was worth it though. I honestly cannot remember a more perfect weekend. Sure there have been more awesome bits, and maybe a super day. But not 2 whole complete days like we just had.
I know I am going to do what I can to help final weekend top this past weekend, but it's gonna be tough.
I still have tons of stuff to do to catch up. Pics to process, videos to put on YouTube and link to my site. Pages to finish. People to conatact, etc.

Work and life will prevent me from getting that last special project done. (it's been one of those days where you are just glad you didn't kill yourself accidently). So I'll announce it... I am building a GLMF boardgame. I'm planning on swiping a bunch of pics from the site for cards, doctoring a map of the site, and creating a day at the faire for those who want to be here the rest of the year. Anybody intrigued by this is more than welcome to discuss it this coming weekend. Anybody that absolutely hates the idea of being on a card, feel free to say so. (except Higgins, he's in too many shots to avoid). When I get it done, there is a website that prints indy games where I can make it available for you all to get a copy at essentially cost of parts.
