Only 322 days, 21 hours, 29 minutes, and 19, 18, 17 seconds left until 2011 Season!!!
What? Is it too early to start counting now??

We are already planning new costumes. Josh ( The Black Fox Pirate ) makes his from scratch, all hand-sewed. By that I mean handstitched, no machine used at all... Me... I'm more likely to buy something promising at a thrift store and trim it out. Also, I re-do with fancy old clothes that I have. I re-made an old dress I had into a noblewoman's outfit with the addition of pearls and lace and other fru-fru. I will be making a french hood from the brim of a baseball cap and a padded hairband. I am also making a black silk velvet muffin cap from fabric taken from a vintage coat. LONG LIVE RE-CYCLING !!! ... It's a whole lot cheaper too... Have you priced any of those Tudor outfits from catalogues like " Museum Replicas" ? ...OUCH !!!... $265.00 (WOW !!!) is not unusual for a gown. Then, there's the pricey shipping cost on top of that ! Oh, by the way, folks... You can make yourself a beautiful pair of Renaissance or pirate shoes out of an old pair of cowboy boots... If you're lucky enough to find a black pair---great. If not, dye any other color with a bottle of "Shoe-make " dye... Then, cut the vamp off at the stitching. Bind the rough edges of the vamp with super-glued black grograin ribbon. Find an antique pair of shoe buckles or make up 2 silk or grograin ribbon bows. You could even sew a fancy vintage button in the middle of the bows. Sew or super-glue your decorations on to the vamps. You can paint the heels bright red ( an affectation of the Time )... "Voila !!!"---an absolutely wonderful pair of shoes to wear to the Faire at a really inexpensive price & a little creativity !!! ... Love, --- La Comtesse Suzanne.

Thank you countessofmidnight. I always had a problem with shoes when it comes to medieval period. ---You're welcome, Dear. We all like to look " period",---BUT, sometimes... Yikes !!! THE COST !!! The trick is to costume yourself WITHOUT destroying your budget !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Soooooo....I know GLMF has been selling tickets already but nothing makes my palms sweat more than getting a current copy of Renaissance Magazine...flipping to the back where it lists what states are having what Faires and when...and GLMF isn't listed for Ohio...I know tickets are being sold...but...given all the topsy turviness of the Faire...it just makes me uneasy...

That just made me more nervous as a customer that bought tickets before Christmas and hasn't recieved them yet.

Having things to the printers "on time" and booking acts "on time" never seems to be GLMF strong suit....still, they could at least put "ticket vouchers" or some sort of acknowledgement in the mail (if they don't have the tickets printed yet) to people who have bought tickets/passes to ease the tension...

If you look in the ticket order form, it says that tickets won't begin shipping until the middle of January.
It had only been two weeks since the middle of January. I'm sure they are getting caught up and getting orders out.

That's it I'm sure. Mid of Jan... Mid of Feb... It takes a long time to send out all those pre-sale tickets.
I'm going to try that with one of my customers. I begin shipping the middle of this month but it might take me a few months to get your specific shipment out. Be patient we will get around to it.
