Hey everyone... Hubby, Wee One and I ventured up to the Sterling Ren Fest yesterday. It was nice, but not "home" !! My review: Food - tasty. They take good old green American money, and they serve beer and local wines. A little too much fried stuff for my taste, but we got there right at lunch time and had to find something quick, so our noses led us to that area....there may have been other stuff elsewhere. (We did find a fresh fruit vendor later for a snack.) Vendors - I found a couple I fell in love with, the glass sculptor was breathtaking! Also a printmaker, Moresca (garb), and I bought a lovely new bag from Gypsy Wings. As an added bonus, I "saw" our very own Jezzy at Lady Fayre Dolls! (the doll is amazing, and really looks JUST like her) Entertainment - the Wee One is WAY into music, so we pretty much just wandered the lanes and caught whatever we were near. Empty Hats!! Bells & Motley Consort was fun, as was Crannog. We watched a bit of the joust before it started to rain - the guys looked familiar... I really wanted to see a few more shows, but with an 18-month old "in charge," it is hard to stop for too long! The cast street bits were awesome, too, though. Location - that is one biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiig hill. Especially when you have to push a stroller.
