If I go, that will be when I go. But odds are long on it happening.

I was thinking about doing a whole weekend. But what hotels I can find with any vacancies are a bit too much for my tastes. So, I think it will just be a day trip for that Saturday. (9/29)

Cap'n Red Shirt will appear the first weekend of October. He may be disguised as a noble, so be wary.
He may also appear the last weekend, depending on how his privateering goes in the time between.

Had a lot of fun yesterday at Oren. The fiare definitely has a different flavor than GLMF. I got the feeling that shopping was the main draw for the faire, and entertainment was a secondary consideration. Definitely a whole lot more vendors, and almost every one of them in a permanent structure. Lots of games and rides also. The food was good, though not nearly the variety that we have. Prices were comparable. I can't comment on the entertainment, as we didn't see any shows. Too busy sight-seeing and visiting with friends. I know they had the usual mix of things. Mud show, Washing Well Wenches, joust, chess. a couple musical stages, a pub stage, a kids stage, a sword show, and a pirate show (on a huge pirate ship stage). And of course, things like a glass blower, stone carvers, and a blacksmith (our own Dragon's Head Forge) Also not sure about the cast. Seemed kind of small, and most appeared to be the queen and her court. Though I did see some peasant types entertaining people with bit in the food areas down front. Next time I go, I will probably take in some of the entertainment, just to see what it is like. Wanted to catch the joust, but always seemed to miss it.
Had lots of fun catching up with old friends though. Lots of current and former GLMF vendors down there. I'm probably going to forget some, but off the top of my head, this is what I remmber. Ear Art, Gilded Lilly, Dragon's Head Forge, St Saidies Soap, Griffin Works, Authentic Wardrobe, White Pavilion, Braizen Lady, Catskill Mountain, Crimson and Chan, Skychairs, Uncommon Adornments, Aradani Studios.
