It has been confirmed. The pubs are not in operation this season. Courtney Foringer posted it on her FB.
So sad....I fear this will be the final straw.

BIG Question...is it going to be posted on the GLMF Site? If not, there will be alot of pissed off patrons who remember the Pubs and ale being served last year...
Is there going to be alot of trips to the Parking Lot and THEN...are the Trustee's going to have the constabulary circling like buzzards waiting....
Sucks bilge water big time...but friends make up for it...tho' I'm pretty sure it's illegal to listen to Owain without anything in one's goblet...but...if that's what has to happen then...so be it.
Hoping a big chunk of KARMA kicks the Trustee's square in the arse!
Hmmm...wonder if this is going to affect the Feast as well...

I did notice on the faire website, it says 'sampling of soft drinks' for the feast. No mention of any other beverage.

If it is indeed so, then they need to remove the following statement from their FAQs page ASAP!
"Are alcoholic beverages sold at the Faire? Yes, beer and ale are sold at the pubs, with appropriate identification. Alcoholic drinks cannot be removed from the Fairegrounds."

Not to mention the "Father's Day Ticket Special" that stated:
"The Faire means ale, roasted meat, the clash of armor, and women in bodices - could there possibly be a better Father's Day gift?"
Not that anyone goes soley to Faire for drink...but it is part of the atmosphere...

Feast didn't serve alcohol before. So it doesn't affect the feast in any way.

As for Capt. Morgan's statement about the constabulary, I doubt they will be much of a problem. Remember, Trumbull Township HAS NO police force, they relay upon the Ashtabula Co. Sheriffs department. And since Ashtabula Co. is BROKE they only have ONE deputy per shift on patrol for the whole county. Besides Faire is private property, so I would imagine it would be no different than you bringing a six pack over your buddy's house for a cook-out.
Besides, look on the bright side. Think of all the money you will save. The stuff at the pubs was a bit overpriced in my opinion.

Ron Tambourine is the Senior Corporation Counsel for The Sherwin Williams Paint Company- Christopher Connor IS the CEO-------
I would strongly recommend contacting Mr Connor's office let him know what the hell is going on.. Last year I spoke with Mr Connor's sec, and advised her~
We need calls to flood his office:
THIS IS FOR THE CEO'S DIRECT LINE. I doubt you will speak to him-his secretary is just as good as gold------she wondered what Ronnie's beef was with the Faire---I'll leave it @ that..
Just call, and get the ball rolling..
He NEEDS TO BE REMOVED FROM HIS LIVELIHOOD>

Forgot some things, Hank that money went to various charities. So numb nuts, is hurting the charities~ Spend more @ the vendors and food court. WE have to STOP HIM!!!! Call THE media and have them there on opening day~ EXPOSE TAMBURRINO.... k got it off my mammetts! bring your adult refreshments:)- Bottom line is WE are there for GREAT FELLOWSHIP--- Yes this is a Pi$$er, bit WE NOT LET RONNIE RUIN OUR FAIRE. We are there for each other. NOW damn it Faire opens in 9days! We have Our ways -- Look ahead and move one-lets not let his spoiled childish antics prevent us from what we DO Yearly! Capice?

Lady C - please keep the trustee discussion in the trustee forum. That is what it is there for.

going to be alot of trips to the Parking Lot and THEN...are the Trustee's going to have the constabulary circling like buzzards waiting.... . Don't think that will be an issue. Because of budget issues, Ashtabula County only has 1 partrol car for the entire county. 2 deputies in the 1 car, all other police staff are at the jail, the rest were laid off back in the spring. www.wkyc.com/news/local/news_article.aspx?storyid=133951&catid=3 Besides, the parking lot is private property, and they have no business there.

Before jumping to any conclusions (though my thoughts, too, are that the trustees are somehow behind this), does anyone know what prompted the Faire to make this decision? Were they unable to obtain a liquor license this year, or was no one able or willing to run the pubs, and for what reason?
As it's usually referred to as a "state" liquor license, can local trustees prevent a group from obtaining one? Or was new zoning passed establishing certain areas as dry?
Or perhaps the cost to obtain both the proper licensing and insurance has just become too much.
Lots of questions here. I'm sure lots of us would like to know the facts behind this decision.

I would also like to know the details. I don't mind the idea of bringing a cooler into the park. I am concerned how this will effect the longevity of the faire. Yes it will be cheaper for me, but I would also like to see Larry have a profitable business. I think this years opening day will be one of the most important ever. It might dictate the future of our faire. I'm hoping all goes well and doesn't effect patronage but I am very concerned that it will. Does anyone know of any successful "dry" faires?
