Well...apart from the fact that I would LOVE it if they could do GLMF 2010...I got this from Nelson: Hey there chums, I never send out mass email but today I have a reason. Please go to: www.slbc.ie/involved/compreg/....register, and vote for the ROGUES in their Battle of the Irish Bands contest. If we win we get to play VEGAS! Our video isn't up yet but it will be soon (it's a tune we taped called "The Gael"). Right now we're in 2nd place so please spread the word to your friends, families, hockey teammates, colleagues, etc. Thanks and take care, Nelson -- THE ROGUES -- AMERICA'S CELTIC BAND www.therogues.com"OUTSTANDING!" -- Dirty Linen Magazine

Thanks to all of you who voted! They're are down to the top 5 Bands and the Rogues are included so Nelson asks you once more for your help!! *** Howdy ya'll, First off I want to thank all of you for taking the time to vote for the Rogues in the Celtic Battle of the Bands. Thanks to you we placed 2nd in the first round out of 65 bands from Europe and North America. The top 5 bands have gone through to the final round. I'm sorry for being such a pain, especially if you've already heard from me several times, but I'm hoping that you can go to: www.slbc.ie/involved/compreg/ and vote for the ROGUES one more time. Thank-you in advance and please tell everybody you know. If we win we'll take all of you with us to Vegas on St. Patty's Day when we perform at the Monte Carlo! Cheers! Nelson *** "Ya'll" ! That crazy Canuk has spent too much time in Texas! LOL!

Keep the votes coming, folks! Per Nelson: Well my friends it's nearly over. Voting for the 2nd and final round of the Celtic Battle of the Bands ends tomorrow. I've never been one to send mass emails so I realize that I may be driving you crazy. I'm truly sorry. We've been battling for first place all week and only lead by 1.2%. I'm sure a lot of you have already voted, perhaps only in the first round (votes were erased after the first round so please vote again).
We've been begging people to post it on their Facebook page or email the link to their friends and relatives. If all of you even notified a few more people it would really help us out. Don't forget that everybody who votes is entered into a draw for a trip for two to Vegas. If you ever need me to help move furniture please let me know.
The link one last time is: www.slbc.ie/involved/compreg/ Please vote for the Rogues.
Thanks again and take care, Nelson

...I prefer to stay at the Mirage. Right smack-dab in the middle of the strip, and a great pool!

How cool is this?? From The Rogue's Website:
VOTED #1 - THEN WE ROCKED VEGAS!
March/2010 - Thanks to the incredible support of the ROGUE ARMY AMERICA'S CELTIC BAND defeated 63 groups to win the First Battle of the Celtic Bands! Our win took us to Las Vegas where we performed on St. Paddy's Day at the Monte Carlo Casino and on Fremont Street. While on stage we invited S. Sgt. Nick Firth (US Army, ret.) from Operation Ward 57 to join us on the drums. He was amazing!
Now, THEY'RE PLAYING HOLLYWOOD!!!
THE ROGUES HEAD TO HOLLYWOOD!
January/2010 - Bonny Portmore -- an Irish tune on the ROGUES album ROGUETRIP -- will appear in the upcoming film, "The Irishman". The film, starring Christopher Walken, Val Kilmer, and Vinnie Jones is the true story of Danny Greene, an Irishman involved with the Mafia in the 1970s.
Weird connection here...when I was an Aux. Cop, I used to ride with the cop that wrote the book the movie is based on and he would talk about his research and his writing it...then, Danny Greene was killed in Lyndhurst where I live. I actually got to see the investigation photos (and all his bits and pieces) when I worked at the Police Department!
