Just a quick heads-up for those who are not used to this sort of stuff.
I know many of you do not really do much on the internet, and have not participated in other message groups other than this one. So I thought now would be a good time to touch on this subject.
With online discussion groups, eventually you run across people who fit the definition of TROLL.
A good definition of troll can be found on wikipedia
Up until now, we haven't really had a problem with trolls.
Yeah, we have had some people pop in to stir up trouble occasionally, but they usually weren't too bad, and/or didn't stick around long.
With the current state of affairs though, we are bound to attract a few more.
The best course of action is to ignore them.
Do not respond to them.
As that is exactly what they are looking for. Doesn't matter if you make good points to their arguments, or not. You won't win.
You can't change thier minds, and all they will do is derail discussions, or worse, cause someone to say things that they shouldn't.
Let me handle the situation.
I am a veteran of many flame wars. I have been hanging out in online communities for years, all over the net. At this point I am pretty much flame-proof. I don't take words typed by some stranger on the internet personally. And I don't get sucked into arguments easily.
If someone posts something provocative, mean, nasty, or that otherwise raises your blood pressure, DO NOT RESPOND.
Any rise they can get out of you, will just feed their hunger to further get under your skin.
If you ignore them, they eventually get bored and go away.

In Internet slang, a troll is someone who posts controversial, inflammatory, irrelevant or off-topic messages in an online community, such as an online discussion forum, chat room or blog, with the primary intent of provoking other users into an emotional or disciplinary response[1] or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion
