Dear pickle goddess, you have no idea what I am doing to save the faire so please don't presume to guess.
Last I checked there is nothing wrong with some innocent banter. If I wanted to hijack the post I would have gone about it in a much different way.
I have been very civil but thank you for giving people another example of what not to do at the meeting.
Please do not go off on a rant at the meeting. It will be disruptive and do exactly what BB was trying to explain earlier in the post.
PS: Thank you Guest. I also thought a discussion board was for "Discussion"

Marzeke - I believe you have made some valid points. Though, I am not sure this is really the best thread to make them in.
This thread is specifically for the discussion about the meeting next week. As such it is being used to dispense information and give people some good guidelines to follow during that meeting.
You are correct. We cannot impose our will on others. That would be behaving just like them. But the flip side of that is that we do need to cummunicate what appears to be the best approach to making ourselves heard and showing ourselves in a positive light.
I won't even get into the idea of asking patrons to behave any particular way. Especially when they are not even at the faire. Yes, it would be nice if everyone that wears any kind of garb anywhere in the area were perfect saints and never did anything to upset anyone. But realistically, that is not going to happen. Even if we could get everyone that reads this board to try to strive for that, it wouldn't make a lot of difference. We are only a small percentage of garbed fairegoing public. And people are going to behave the way they are going to behave. Weather they be in garb or not.
But you did illustrate very well, some of the traps that people can fall into. That was very usefull, and hopefully eye-opening and food for thought for some who are reading this.

Dave, this probably isn't possible, but I was just wondering......for those of us unable to make it to the meeting, would it be possible for us to sign some sort of petition or something? Represent ourselves somehow? I can keep it in the Grove for easy access if you think it's feasible............

Thank you Sir Trevor. I couldn't agree with you more.
I hope all goes well at the meeting. I will be out of town most of this week on business and cannot attend but I will be thinking about it every day.
Good luck and I hope to see you at the faire on the 15th.

Bump..
Also, I expect if we have a large showing, and the residents also show up... and the crowd is rather large.. The Trustees will try to say "Due to the large number of people present creating a safety concern and a fire hazard, we postpone the meeting for a change of venue."
If such a thing occurs, I will gladly step outside the meeting and listen from the doorway to lessen the number of people present to an appropriate number.
