Ahem...
Dead Rising is hitting the stores today. I've had my copy reserved for over five months. Tonight, zombies will be destroyed with reckless abandon.
That is all.

Just wandering around a mall killing zombies... Doesn't that get boring after the first hour?

Nope!
And it's not just wandering around killing zombies...
Frank West is a photojournalist attempting to get the big story. You end up working with DHS operatives in attempting to uncover exactly what is occurring and why, then surviving long enough to tell the tale. There are rescues to perform, psychopaths and cultists to stop, plus all the zombies.
Believe me, not boring. Especially to someone that enjoys zombie movies.

Hmmm...lets see, miles upon miles of zombies that need to be killed, reminds me of 5:05pm on I-480 or I-77.

Curse you X-Box owners. This game looks so incredibly tight. Eh, Disgaea Hour of Darkness owns my life now anyway, 122 hours so far. Play on Brian and score a headshot for me will ya?

Must...play...more. And yet, I must rest. One more day of the daily grind and then our final weekend.
Many headshots occurred this evening as I was able to defeat the gun shop owner and grab a sniper rifle and a couple shotguns. Well, the shotguns were slight overkill on the headshots, but you have to be sure!!!
Sadly, my disk somehow got a bit smudged and I have to do it over again tomorrow night. Silly thing. I'm focusing that it was a smudge and not an overheating 360, but then, you never know. Perhaps it's time to place MORE fans near that nuclear plant of a console.

To quote Sir Geoffrey "Doesn't that get boring after the first hour?" NO! it gets boring after about the first 5 minutes! JR (Alan Adale) is a big game player. right now he is playing something call Eternal Darkness, I think thats what it is anyway. He plays his game on the TV down in my garage, so when I take a break and go up to the fridge to get something to eat or drink. I will watch a bit of it. From what I have seen all of these games are about the same. The hero (thats you) is endlessly running about searching for some damn thing or another. A weapon, a magic amulet, some spell, etc. every now and then you fight some demon/zombie/dragon/vampire/whatever. And these games move at a slower pace then soap operas on TV.
I came up from the workshop to the garage JR was gaming in to get a drink and the "hero" was wandering about this castle/manor/some big building, looking for something, well I watched for a bit while I finished my drink then went back to work. A few hours later I took another break and our "Hero" is still wandering about looking for something. (for all I know, it was the same something) All this is just way too boring for me. I sure wouldn't waste 9 plus hours doing it. HANK.

I used to love playing games like that. Sadly, I don't have the time anymore.
And no, it doesn't get boring. As a matter of fact, time flies so fast, you look at the clock and go "when did it get this late?"

I spent years playing role playing games, Ultima,Wizardry, A bards Tale, Solitary military games, I conquered Russia more times than I can count, No, nay, never no, nay, never,no never, no more, just one more turn, room, fight, no sleep, can think of nothing else, even when away from the game you plan and cannot wait until the next session. piles, of beer bottles, paper plates brick bra-ck, living like a bear, you cannot play just one turn, no, get a taste of a new game and wake up six months later to discover the world was conquer by martians and you did not notice. no, never,......until next time

I know plenty of people that can't stand games, whether video games, board games, card games or otherwise. Although games may look boring to non-gamers, you have to understand that there is, in fact, storyline within the game that compels us forward. I mean, look at poker, isn't that just the same thing over and over again? Get some cards, make some bets, win/lose and do it again and again. Yet people love playing!
I loved Eternal Darkness (I'm still tracking down the person that borrowed mine from me), especially the fact that there is more than one ending. You just continue from the save game you had previously and start it up again. The reason you saw him in the house both times is that you most likely missed one of the chapters of the story. The main character is in the house, but each time they read farther into the book, they must replay that story as well which transports them off to Ancient Rome and various other places.
I am on X-box Live.
