I have until Tuesday to see if for myself... (actually friday, when i buy the DVD)
but my friends and i were discussing how we think that this movie will be a major boost to any and all medieval faires... just like pirates of the carribbean was.
what do you think and what did you think of the movie?

I only saw it once and that was when it first came out. I liked it but some history buffs I know took issue with some of the things in the big battle scenes. As for how it will effect ren faires, I don't know, I don't know if the movie drew that much of a following.

I saw this last week, I thought it was excellent. I thought the acting was quite something, and a much more serious role for Bloom than his efforts in Pirates of the Caribbean or any of the Lord of the Rings trilogy movies. Granted, he was outstanding in those too, but I thought his efforts in this particular film were quite impressive. i have not watched the bonus materials that were included with the dvd.

I finally saw the movie last night, and found it to be excellant. I have to admit that my knowledge of the crusades has been restricted to what I learned in World History in high school. I think that I may do some further investigation into the topic while I'm waiting for my leg to heal.
