Loggins and Messina, 'House On Pooh Corner'
and ( hell of a combination here! ).....
Alice Cooper, 'I Love The Dead'.
I'm just twisted enough that that appeals to me on such an occaison. Better play it later, though, when everyone is thoroly potted!

OKay.... Not a song list, but, my wishes:::;
I will be cremated! Don't have to "spread" my ashes anywhere. I MAY want to put part of them into 3 vials so each of my children can have a little piece of me. Hubby gets the rest so I can continue to bug the shit out of him :-)
At my party, and it will be a party: Everyone is to come in Faire garb!!!! Family already knows this and they don't really matter anyway, my funeral!
Lots of fun food and drinking. (I am 100% Irish)
Lots of music playing loudly.
No holding hands and getting all mushy. Save that for another day. I will be watching, so I will see all of this.

I'm with you there! Just for the record, though, I DO want to be sprinkled somewhere out in the woods, or a stream or somewhere. You can toss a bit of me in the pickle grove as well. Seriously! S'funny how most people get all weird about this subject. I mentioned off handedly at work when Metallica's 'Enter Sandman' came on the radio that it was one of the songs I wanted played at my wake, and the whole place freaked out!

I may steal the Tim McGraw from you.
I know what you mean about other people getting a little creeped about this subject. My dad thinks I am nuts. My friends think I am weird. I tell them that when my time comes, they don't have to rush around trying to figure stuff out. I did it already. My step-mom passed away a couple months ago and she did not have anything prepared. I made a CD from some of my music and gave that to the funeral people. Then I had to go with my dad to help plan it all. Since my funeral was pretty much already planned, I had an easier time helping dad.

Yep, it's only sensible, plus I've seen too many cases where someone died suddenly and the family had no idea what their wishes were.....Steph comes to mind.........or totally ignores them because they don't feel whatever the deceased wanted was 'proper'. My sister-in-law is one of those!
Since my family disowned me a long time ago, you all ARE my family, and I'd like to make sure you know what I want when the time comes. Cremated, BIG wonking party, sprinkled in the woods, etc. If you must have a ceremony, it'd better be Pagan, and no flowers, donations to animal, wildlife, and/or childern's charities. Simple enough.
And you're welcome to 'steal' the Tim McGraw..........SUCH a good, fitting song!

I can handle a Pagan ceremony for you....Druid here.
Money to a good cause sounds about right. Flowers die off too quickly. Maybe a tree or a Monty Python shrub planted somewhere.
I am going to add: Message to You by the Bee Gee's

Good, fellow Druid is a GOOD thing!
And yeah, planting something would be great too. I'll take the flowers while I'm alive to enjoy them! ;D

I have been staying at my father's since July 5th. He's been in the hospital twice. After the first time he decided he wanted to pre plan his funeral. No problem, we spent 2 days at 2 different funeral homes. The 2nd day we were sitting in the funeral homes office, he was asking bunches of questions, I got on the internet on my phone. He had decided which coffin he wanted, I put the make & name in my search. I found the coffin for $2000 less! He ordered the coffin on Friday, it was delivered Monday. They pulled up, my daughter & her 2 children, my nephew & his fiance', Luke, Lois & I were out there with cameras laughing thinking this was really cool. The driver came up the driveway holding his heart telling us 'this wasn't funny'. AFter about 45 min he calmed down, got in the pictures with us & left laughing. My father had his picture taken with him sitting on the coffin along with his great grandchildren. It is now sitting in the garage. Can't wait for Halloween!!!
