This is a new faire, only the second season. There are about 10 vendors and 2 food vendors, currently a pirate comedy show and a magic show (Porter/Vinny, of Porter and Stout, and Jenny.) starting next weekend there will also be a celtic music act. If you have any specific questions about the vendors post here and I will answer as best as I can. Next weekend is Pirate weekend, and if anyone is not otherwise engaged it would be great to see some you there. It is located in Columbus PA which would be a bout 2 hours from GLMF www.wildroserenfaire.net/index.html This is the web sight and if anyone plans to go and needs directions I'd be glad to help with that. Being a new faire they are struggling a little bit and any extra support would really help out a lot.

Bunnie and I attended this Faire last year and found it to be most enjoyable. The prices are cheap, the view from the fair site is awesome. ( it sits atop a hill)
True, there were not many vendors, nor entertainment, but that was to be expected for a first year endeavor. Remember, GLMF, Michigan, and probably every other faire was probably pretty small when they first began. But as time goes on and more people support them, they might make a few bucks which allows them to grow bigger and better.
Unfortunately, due to financial constraints we probably will not be able to attend this year. But for those of you who are able, it is a pleasant diversion for an afternoon, so go check it out.
HANK.

Let me clear things up here. Corry and Coraopolis are NOWHERE near one another. As Sue said, Coraopolis is just North of Pittsburgh, and Corry is way North of that. It is located on U.S. Route 6 up near the border of New york. As for Moon Twp, My road atlas lists a Moon Crest, and a Moon Run in Pennsylvania, but neither is anywhere near Corry. No listing on any Moon Twp.

Thanks for the location assistance Hank. Corry is a very small town located about half way between Erie Pa and Warren Pa. The faire is on RT 957 closer to Warren than Erie. From Corry it takes about an hour and a half to an hour and 45 min to get to GLMF. Add about 15 min travel time to Wild Rose. ( so about 1hr 45 min to 2 hrs from GLMF area to Wild Rose) If any one is planning on coming let me know where from and I can give you more precise directions from your location. I presume most of you will be heading to Erie first, then you would want to take 19 south through Waterford and Union City where you would pick up RT 6 by taking a Left at the red light. Follow that all the way through Corry, you will pass a McDonald's on the Right, go through 1 red light (well if it's actually red you may want to stop until it turns green) then you will be heading out of Corry, keep going pass the evil empire on the left and another red light at thethe evil empire. You are now headed for Columbus. You will come to a y in the road with a Chevy dealer right in the middle of the y. Take the left hand side. You will go through Columbus Pa on RT 957 heading toward Lottsville. It is about 4 or 5 miles on the left. there are pennant flags lining the road on both sides. Turn in to the drive way and go back in to the field. Once you get up the drive a little you can see the faire. Any more questions let me know. Admission $8 adults $5 for kids if you bring a donation for the food bank it is $ 2 off. Hope to see some of you there. I'll be there part of almost every day through the season. If you let me know when you are coming I'll do my best to be there to show you around and introduce you to the cast and the folks running the faire. Thanks Rahne

YAY!! the more the merrier, bring as many people as you can. That last Saturday should be fun with the bonfire and for any one with kids they get in free and there are several activities planned for kids. They are also picking up more entertainment as the faire goes on so there should be more this weekend, and there is a possibility of an additional act for the final 2 weekends.

It rminds me of GL when it first started in Madison on the Lake many many years ago,and would be nice if GL's people could support what they are trying to do there.....there is a food vendor that goes to Pitts with 2 non food boothes......his Scottish eggs are to die for...they are baked not deep fried....whata difference that makes....also,is a dry(no adult beverages)faire....hope that some of you from our faire can support them......hagd!! I will defiantely go there next year to see then grow...

Ummm... It's not exactly a dry faire.. They just don't have a liquor license, so they can't sell it. But if you bring your own, that's a different story.

Beer Blessings is correct. You can bring your own beverage with no problems. There are plans in the future to actually have adult beverage available, but currently they have not been able to get the license or insurance to cover the event if alcohol is provided. Still it is a lot of fun. The bonfire the last weekend sounds as though it will be interesting. I have been warned that this will not be a good place for my young children to be. The bonfire will take place after the close of the official faire day, and all are welcome, but there may be activities going on there that one would not wish to expose young and impressionable children to. Numbers were up a bit this weekend with 47 on Saturday and 75 on Sunday. Next Saturday there will be a door prize raffle of a knife/dagger donated by the sword vendor. It will be available to see when you come in the gate and you can decide if you wish to sign up for it at that time, there may also be a second item, but the details of that were not clear when we left yesterday . Rules are must be 18(for the dagger) and must be present to win. The drawing will be held darning the pub sing at the end of the faire day. There will be at least one door prize each of the remaining 4 days of the faire. When I find out what they are I will post them.
The entertainment is still expanding. We started with the magic show(Vinny and Jenny) and Live From the Pirate Isles. Added a Celtic group this weekend, and next weekend there will be an acapella group singing the naughtier songs, sorry did not get the name of the group but Vinny and Jenny know them and say they are really good. With the increase in entertainment it should be easy to pass 4 to 5 hours there without a problem. Also with it being SCA weekend they will have an area set up for information and demonstrations. Hope to see some of you there. I did finally get a photo of my self this weekend, though it is not great (I hate photos of my self) I will See if I can figure out how to post it.

Just wanted to thank Sheila and John for coming out to support the faire. It was great to see some familiar faces and to have so many people come this weekend. I hope it does continue to grow and will some day be the size of GLMF. I look forward to seeing some more of you here over the next two weekends. Most of the cast just know me as Tonya and they will generally greet new people as they come in the gate. Just ask one of them they can usually find me and point me out.

I just want to say I had a wonderful time at the Wild Rose faire. Yes it is small but it's very nice. We watched the shows and talked to the venders. The sight is to die for with it's view. We had the perfect day. Crystal clear, 70 degrees and the trees turning. It is worth the drive to go share time with the people there. Will be there next year to watch it grow and blossum.
