Ok, I gotta ask. Are all these strange bands being mentioned bands that you are actually familiar with? Like you know their songs, and have listened to their music? Do they actually have CDs available in the stores?
I'm just curious, as a lot of the names added recently ring absolutely no bells with me.

No, you probanly wouldn't recognize most of them! All of 'em are legit, Trev, altho, no, I have not heard most of them. Yes to the CD thing, though, for the most part. ( CD's, yes, stores.....some of them! ) I'm getting the names out of the Free Times and Scene music sections.....all of them are currently booked to play somewhere in Cleveland in the next month or two. Some, like Wolfmother, are still up-and-comming, but touring nationally. Not just makin' 'em up, I promise! And I CAN back the info if need be! Just thought it would be a good source of names to add to the thread.
A couple more .'The Spyderz'
'Ringworm' ( been around for a while)
And I KNOW this is streching it.....'Foxboro Hot Tubs'! ;D

Oh, I didn't think you were making them up. I just thought some of them might be local bands that aren't really national acts. I don't really count those, as they change so frequently that they are nothing but a blip on the map. But bands like Wolfmother I have heard of. They actually got a lot of radio play last summer.

Yeah, Wolfmother is a good band and going places. Or, one is to hope, anyway!
So did you not want us to use the local guys?

You can use whoever you want. My comment was a personal opinion. I myself won't be refererncing local groups. Especially since anyone who isn't local won'g have any idea who they are.

Okay, I heard someone called 'Space Dog' last night on WMMS. Not at all familiar, but they're getting airplay, so they're either really old and got by me, or up and comming. Sounded pretty good either way!
