Hey guys GLMF would really like to see the cast grow like the stage acts this season. We started auditions today with EXTREMELY low attendance. Please tell all your friends and try to get as many people as possible to join our show and help take the show to the next level. Thanks in Advance.

I wonder if it is because of the location change? Most of the time wasn't it held at the faire?
(never mind...I was thinking the stage combat lessons thread)

In the past it's been held in Erie, at the tavern, and at the faire. The next two weeks are at the faire, but I want tomake sure we are getting a good response.

I have never auditioned, so I am unsure if what you have seen so far was the norm....

The key is to know it will, not "hope" it will--J

I know a lot of people (including myself) that are planning on coming the last weekend due to school and scheduling issues. I'll spread the word around Kent!!!

???HUH! I just don't get it.John, you posted, and I quote "We started auditions today with EXTREMELY low attendance."
Well, ya posted this at 12:06 A.M. So like how many people did you expect to turn out at midnight on St. Patrick's day? Most of us are probably drunk, for cryin' out load. And where was it posted about the auditions being held? I don't recall seeing any listing, least not here on Trevor's board.
Now, maybe the old "regulars" knew about it from having it start about this time in the past. I'm just guessing mind you, as I have never auditioned. But how would any newbies who are thinking, "Gee, I'd like to try my hand at this" to know?
Just wondering. HANK.

Well let's see the first posting about auditions with times and locations being upon the website were in January by um.... BUNNIE. Then they were listed again in Febuary they have been advertised in papers and to every school within a one hundred mile radius and on the GLMF e-mail newsletter that has been going out monthly. The posting last night was after a disheartening response hoping for more next weekend and the weekend after. I'm sorry you weren't informed. CHEERS
PS---Oh I forgot it has been on the North East Ohio Performing Arts List several times as well

John - A suggestion re: audition notices. I know you've posted on the NEOHPAL message boards, but perhaps another post with a gentle emphasis about "new entertainment management" would be helpful. The word is definitely out with us patrons about all the exciting changes, and getting that out within the local theatre community could only be a positive thing.
You may have already done this, in which case, please pardon my oversight... it wouldn't have jumped out at me so much since I was already aware of the changes through this board.

Thanks, your right I have been running into alot of opposition in the community and that would be a great selling point.--J

Isn't easter break coming up for the college crowd soon? Perhaps there will more then to audition. Like Devran said, some people who want to audition may not have the means nor the funds (for gas) to attend.
Which brings up an idea. I don't know how feasible it is to do this, but could there be auditions at the colleges/schools instead? Perhaps going to one location per day.....I dunno...just trying to toss some ideas out there.
