I'm sure since faire is getting close (just over 2 weeks away) many people will be interested in getting their passes or tickets soon. Will the faire office be selling passes before the faire opens? Since there are no ticket outlets listed on the official site yet, is it safe to assume that Giant Eagle will be selling tickets to faire again this year? Will they be available anywhere else?

I ordered my pass off of the website, and I received a voucher, all I need to do is stop in the office (NO big deal for me, I live MAYBE 10 minutes away....), or, go to will call on the first day to pick up my sticker I still have last year's pass...but, you can get a new photo pass too if needed, just go to the office!!! Whoa!!! I just realized how much of an online junkie I am! I live that close and yet I ordered it off of the site??

It's just more convinent that way. Hopefully no long lines to pick it up.... Unlike those of us last year on the first day that couldn't get the line moving at 9:30am and had to wait for our passes. You're not a junkie, just thinking smart:)

My question as well...since I was contacted and told that I could purchase my sticker now and it would be sent to me so I wouldn't have to wait in line on Opening Day...(we all know how much fun THAT is!) but when I E-mailed them again about this possibility, I have not received an answer...I don't like ordering things "On Line" and would much rather send them a check and a self addressed stamped envelope...

but when I E-mailed them again about this possibility, I have not received an answer... I will see what I can find out this weekend. I know this close to faire is the big push to get everything done, so most of the office people won't be near a computer.

What the H*** is going on in the "front office"? I was tired of looking at the ticket outlet site on the GLMF page, which, 5 days before faire, STILL says "info will be posted before the faire opens". I clicked on the "contact link and asked about outlets... IT CAME BACK AS UNDELIVERABLE!! Specifically, "Recipient address rejected: User unknown in virtual mailbox table)" 5 days before opening and the marketing contact is "unknown" No wonder the website is so out-of-date! I have out-of-state family arriving that I'd like to take to the Faire, as I have the past two years. They flat-out refused to attend with us this year unless I got tickets in advance. They, like most of us, were caught in the chaos at the ticket windows on opening day last year. What made it so bad for them was all the cigarette smoke trapped under the canopy. We had to take turns getting out of line with the toddler, who has asthma. This was after we made a special point to get there early. All being first in line got us was extra time in the cattle pen, trying to keep a family of mundanes from burning my garb. OK--rant over. Shouldn't check my mail when I'm supposed to be studying, no matter how badly I need the break!

Maybe they will be selling them again this year.

I got the scoop this weekend (and my pass ) Season passes are now available at the office. (they were having trouble with the equipment/software working together, but it is straightened out now. Also, the stickers did not arrive until this weekend as well) Ticket outlets. This is a short list taken from the flier I have. (they have a much bigger list in the office, but I was too busy to co-ordinate with Cindy to get in and copy them today) Giant Eagle AAA Several other local establishments that my memory is failing me on right now. Also according to the flyer, discount tickets may also be purchased at the office. Office hours are 9-5 Mon thru Friday.

I re-sent my bounced e-mail to a secondary address.
One of the questions I asked was whether or nor we could pass thru the gate with just the voucher, and came back out later for the sticker. If I get an answer, I pass it along.

In my previous career, I spent a lot of time dealing with issues of patron satisfaction, event promotion, and the like. And yes, I have the awards and citations to prove that I knew what I was doing.
That is why I am so disturbed at the lack of attention being paid to both the official website and to patron's concerns. With gas prices so high, many people are re-thinking their plans. Now is the time that the Faire should be bending over backward to retain season ticket-holders and to entice first-time visitors. As Master Griffin said some time back in another thread, many families will be looking for activities closer to home this year. If you've never been to the Faire, all you have to judge by is the website, which it appears is being ignored by the Faire staff. Being busy is no excuse; it simply means that priorities and/or staffing levels have not been properly addressed.
A prime example: Trevor saw a list of ticket outlets in the office last weekend. Many on the board have shared info about outlets they have used in the past, etc. But a mundane with no knowledge of this forum will see--4 days before opening--a message from GLMF that the list will be posted "before opening". When? That morning? Other areas are still under construction, and queries to the posted links go unanswered. Somehow, I think Joe Average-family will end up at a known entity like Cedar Point rather than investing time and money in an event that doesn't seem to have all its ducks in a row.
This should concern all of us. We need a constant inflow of fresh faces to keep the Faire vibrant, and we need sheer numbers to keep the prices down.
I've heard many people say they will attend less often this year, or not at all. Former pass-holders are scaling back to daily tickets. What I have not heard is anyone saying that they plan to attend for the first time, even when I'm talking it up among my friends and co-workers.
