I enjoyed opening weekend. Got to meet up with friends. Play with patrons (mainly kiddies.) I thought the grounds looked pretty amazing. I will check out new shows next weekend. I would like to see Marshall Laww on the Chess board. Johnny is always funny. Will see his adult show soon. Spencer will be back next weekend, WOOT!
I thought, all in all, opening weekend was a blast.
(On a side note .... beware the "camera click" Trevor :-)

deep fried oreos went from 3 for $1 to 5 for $3. I can buy an entire package of oreos for that.

This is gerhards wife... first of all the bag sale is not on our menu and never has been this is something we choose to do IF their is alot of FRESH AND NEVER DAY OLD pastries left near closing time and as far as us being greedy in 18 years we have raised only the price of three items. which includes the bag sale which by the way is not 20 dollars. and in all these years as far as we know you are the first in line to ask if and when there is a bag sale never willing to pay the full price so you can talk about us being greedy all you want. before you judge our bakery take a look around and see if other people and places have kept there prices the same for 17 years and by the way thank you for your business.

Well knight12 - I just want to say thank you for the wonderful goodies you have available to us at the faire. I don't think there is a day at faire where we don't stop and sample your wares. Saturday, I had a cookie, and Brit had strudle. And Sunday morning, I treated myself to a delicious brownie.
Just wanted to let you know, that the bakery is much appreciated by most of us.

I'm with the bakery here. Costs are going up for all businesses. This bakery is producing fresh product on a small scale and that will always run you more than the packaged and shipped in excuse for baked goods you are getting at a discount grocer (which is so far from fresh that it is scary). If you want it, buy it. If you think it's not worth the price, hold onto your money. But don't go crying to faire management over a vendor's pricing. It's not their job to set the price on independents. (if they do, it can be construed as price fixing).

I think opening weekend went OK for a first year faire. WAIT!! This is their nineteenth year! Ya think they would have their act together a little better by now, but it seems to get worse every year. Caught a couple of shows, spent most of my time wandering about with pencil and paper writing down the times and places of who was performing when and where. Unbelievable! Stayed till pub-less sing on Saturday (way too late). Got bored with the whole thing Sunday and left about 5:00PM. Along with a LOT of other patrons.
I am getting so disappointed with this place that I will not be there this coming Saturday. There is a car show taking place in Canfield that I chose to spend my time and money at instead. And unless things improve drastically, after 12 years as a season pass holder I doubt I will get one next year. I will probably come out for Pirate weekend, but that's about all. Sad, very sad.
HANK.

With no program schedule I missed every act I wanted to see. The time was filled up very nicely though with catching up with folks from last year.
And the Steampunk contingent was awesome. My hat is off to all of you for the wonderful job done making Alter Ego Time Traveler weekend a true feast.

FYI- I was not the only one that heard your comments about next week it will be 20.00.. Would ya rather sell it ,( and it is delicious,) or discard it? I bring it to my colleagues at work. BTW, Yes I do wait around, after I make my purchase I leave.. Enough said.. I will give my sheckles to the other vendors who will GLADLY appreciate it..and not toy with the prices. But excuse me, I was NOT first in line. My friend who is also a vendor, advised me on the fill a bag,..so please retract your comments.. BTW, your girls are TIPPED accordingly- I pay for GOOD service, so before you ACCUSE ME of being GREEDY you are providing customer service, if a PAYING customer overhears your comments that is the quickest way to LOSE Business.. I dont mind the extra dollar or two...I can afford it. its worth it and its a seasonal sweet, esp the blueberry/cream strudel. This time M'Lady I was NOT 1st in line:) Thank you and have a nice day!

Come back to God's country (Sherwood) & visit Menagerie & Silent Lion! Silent Lion starts at 11:30 (I think), Menagerie's at 12 something, then Silent Lion, then Menagerie, yada, yada, yada. We are jumping into each others shows & our shire piper shows up every once in a while.
Hank, I know that Pub Sing is late but do try to catch us this weekend. Fun is in the air!

Well I think it went O.K. my biggest complaint is with the lack of orginization..Larry and Cindy are just too busy to be able to organize all the time so I think they need to keep the current office staff on thru the winter to organize for them.I mean advertising needs to start at the latest the end of May and I'm sure lack of communication is to blame for the thin vendors. As to the thin crowds....it always takes a few weeks to get going. On the topic of the sweets ..i love them and did not notice a price discrepancy but i do not buy the grab bags. Unless something tragic happens i will always be a season passer.

Greetings All, Well opening weekend has come and gone. I think our cast this year did a great job. Princess Emma was so happy to see you all. I'm a season pass holder so I will hold judgement till I get another weekend under my belt. I was a little disappointed to see a schedule of events was not ready at the gate saturday and the vendors looked a bit thinner than usual. Lord & Lady Higgon's new booth is really nice as was some of the new buildings instead of tents for some of the vendors. I have one negitive compliant. Avaloch dollars were not out when the faire opened Saturday. Cold drinks were not able to be bought at first on saturday. Things like this should be ready when the gates open especially when we are opening an hour later than in years past. But I will note this was a MINOR thing.I know the faire is a major event to run. Somethings you can just count on like Olive at the Black Ox and Frier Tucks chicken. Yummy. The smoothies at Creekside are also wounderfull. However, I want to note the little guys...the GLMF staff workers did also did a great job and provided good customer service at the food booths and front gates. The parking guys, the trash collecters etc. did a good job. I know Beth worked real hard this year trying to keep the office running. So THANKS to you all who helped make the faire. Sir Michael of Mentor & Princess Emma

Yes indeed Beth worked her little tail off!!! She kept in contact about the stickers..
I notice a new face at the front gate--Donna who was for several years at the souvenir stand..the center of town was NOT the same..she attracted crowds..I dunno..wait and see..
I agree Olives place is DELICIOUS, Rosemary Breads, beef sticks.. Everything is delicious. Great Customer Service..nice doggy rest area..
They are so hospitable to everyone..
Thrilled they are permanent fixture and the oxen aren't too bad either..And so is Pimento!

Here is a shout to somebody we all overlook and never appreciate enough. thank you to the people holding the worst job in Avaloch (no, it's not Capt. Stout's ale fetcher) thanks to the privy fairies. you all have the worst job on site and your efforts do not gather nearly enough thanks.
