Eek. Did the cast perform stage combat in the rain? Sorry, but that makes the actor in me very nervous. If there was even a chance the performing space was slippery, that could be really dangerous.

They did. Some of the fights were slightly shortened and/or performed slower. Overall, though, it was one of the most entertaining chess matches of the season. I'm also told that they had all sorts of contingency plans for dealing with the weather if it got worse or if it looked like someone was likely to get hurt.

Aye! They gave a full chess match in the pouring rain. Some of the lines were shortened, or rushed through. But the fights themselves were pretty spot on. Some were a little slower, but overall, close to full speed. And don't worry too much, they were very safe. They were hitting their marks, and had plenty of safe exits from most situations. There were a couple of fights that did surprise me in their speed and agresiveness, given the circumstances. But again, the performers seemed completely comfortable and well in control during those as well. If you can't tell, I do watch the fights, with an eye on safety. I have been around cast so long, and in years past have watched many fight rehersals. I know what goes into a good safe and entertaining fight. (not saying I could do it, just that I can spot when someone else is, or isn't) Sunday's fights in the rain were still much safer than some that made me cringe a few years ago on a weekly basis.

They gave a full chess match in the pouring rain. I have it all on video, too.
