(evil grin) Now Hank, we don't want to start rumors. Now now, that wasn't a rumor, merely idle speculation.................

... some more speculation for you. Larry did purchase the beautiful fountain from the enterance at Geauga. Would you like so see it smack dab in the town square? I think its fabulous and wonder where it will end up at. I'm sure there are other opinions?

I don't even recall a fountain at Geauga Lake, but then it has been years since I was there. I don't know if that would be a good accessory for GLMF as they do have an old unreliable water system at best. You will note that almost every year when we are out there doing cleanup they are digging up and repairing a section that sprung a leak. Plus, a fountain full of foul smelling water I don't feel would be a great attraction. You know what that well water is like. And all of our feathered friends will think it to be a giant bird bath so some one will have to clean the poop out of it.
If they should decide to put it up, I would think up front just inside the gate would be a good spot.

I thought it was going up front near the gate.

I hope that it will be off to the side if it is just inside the front gate. It always seems to be so congested there at opening when we walk in. Hank, I sure do remember the water difficulties. The same spot by the rose booth seems to be repaired over and over and over and... If they fill the fountain and let it run for a while (say a week or two) it will be just fine (other than the birds) I think if the fountain was running it would keep the birds away. I know it would be an awesome addition to the faire and would be just fine by the gate but people would most likely only see it when they came in or went out. I would like to see it in a more traveled location where it could be enjoyed all day.

They could always put it by the main privies there by the Rose Booth, we know there is water there, they keep repairing it all the time. And the patrons are alway complaining about not being able to wash their hands after using the facilities. Problem solved! ;D

I hate to spoil your fountain dreams but, unfortunetly the fountain was in bad shape and some pieces of it simply fell apart, so that particular fountain cannot be put up.

a fountain would be really nice there but i agree that with all the water problems they have there it would be difficult to keep it going & the way things are kept there would be a concern too. Someone would need to personally take care of it to keep it looking & working properly. I mean take a look at that frog pond when Mitch wasn't around to take care of it any longer. Not so many frogs in there any longer!

Actually, only the top two tiers fell apart. Only because of it always being out in the cold winter weather and not being covered, it got brittle. The rest of the tiers are fine and can and will be used. It is just a matter of where we want it and then doing it. Your thoughts of where to have it put are much appreciated.
Thanks

Hrmm.. Perhaps just inside the main gate? Could be the first, and last, thing patrons see when visiting the Faire.. And I can see people dropping lots of change into the big new wishing well!

I too think inside the gate would be good. Right behind that landscaping as you come in. Could be a way to relieve the bottleneck inside the gate, if you can draw people around the other way once they come in.
IF not there, the nmaybe up by the cabin. Give that big open expanse a little something to draw attention.

I personally think it would make a nice addition in the middle of town area somewhere. Front gate is nice, but people only pass through there briefly on their way in or out. If it was in the middle of town it would garner more attention.....we could even do peasant dancing around it.
