Been out of commission for a bit and was wondering how things are going since it's been pretty quiet regarding all of this....

OK, here's an up-date. Bob and I have been out talking to people and getting their in-put as well as a general "feel" of their views. We have been putting signs up where ever we have permission, one of mine has already been stolen and a tamburrino sign put up,( HMMMM? wonder how THAT happened?), and this is on a property that we know for a fact supports us. Right now, we are getting positive feed back and have not been told we weren't getting votes from the folks we've spoken to, we have the support of 3 of the 5 businesses here in the township and we will be visiting the remaining 2 this week. I am by nature a cynical person and refuse to count my dragons before they are hatched, but.................the evidence thus far points to positive out come, let's ALL hope, wish, pray or whatever you think will work so we can turn this township around for the good of all the residents and our friends.

Loads of good mojo always being sent to you, Sweets! As to the swaped out sign...seems scum will rise to the top in any given situation...but those who live by deceit and lies, die by the same weapons...

And today Willis Clay, you remember him, he's the trustee that was removed from the Faire and charged with criminal trespass, sent out a typical smear mailer atacking Bob and myself on a personal level. He is famous for sinking to this type of low-life activity. As for his trial, he had the nerve to ask that the county prosecutors' office pay for his defense, this was denied by the judge, he then filed an affidavit of indigency and requested a pulic defender, again, trying to get someone else to pay for his mistakes, his public defender has just today filed a motion to be released from the case. Seems that nobody WANTS to try to defend him, so his trial will be continued once more.

If he is indigent, then how can he run for public office?

And here I was thinking of sneaking off with a couple of those Tamburrino signs and adding them to the haunted hayride.
And a legal indigency claim covers more than just being without a permanent location. He's obviously angling to grab his public defender on the basis of having a minimal fixed income.
I don't really blame a guy for trying to get anybody else to cover his legal bills. Given the option we would all prefer to have someone else pay our legal bills.
Smear letters however... sort of junior high level politics. People see through it unless they want an excuse.

OK, two days left until the vote. We went door to door practically every night for the last three weeks and only met resistance on 2 occassions, one agreed to read our literature, after about a half hour discussion, and the next day the tamburrino sign he had in his yard was gone, hopefully we made a difference. The second instance was MUCH more adament in his stance as he is a friend of both tamburrino and clay but after another 1/2 hour discussion, he agreed to at least read our literature AND to research the issues regarding the faire on the web and not just go with the line he'd been fed by his "friends". We spent an average of 23 minutes with everyone we talked to,( some more some less), it was a very time consuming venture and only two residents asked about the smear literature sent out by clay, they agreed that it was the lowest form of politicing and there is no room for someone of that ilk in the township, let alone in township government. Bob and I would like to thank everyone for their help and to remind you that if you know anyone who lives in the township to please remind them to get out and vote.
