Ok, 2007 is behind us now. 2008 is here, and this season of GLMF will be sneaking up on us in no time. I did a little housecleaning in here. Most of the 2007-centric threads have been archived now. (for those who don't know, I archive each years discussions to make them easier to find. That way you don't have to wade through page after page of stuff to find something). For those who haven't noticed, the sub-forums are at the bottom of the page. They just took up too much space at the top of the forum. So try to remember they are down there if you need info from a previous year. Scott has already posted some of the acts that will be returning. Hopefully this weekend I will have time to go through the vendor links and see who looks like they will be returning this year. Some things we do know, but may have forgotten (or didn't get the info when it was originally talked about). We won't have Mitch this year He sold his booth and will be taking it easy this year. Good for him, but kind of sad for us (especially since he took his thrones). Hopefully the new owners will carry on his tradition. Griffin's Leather will be moving to their new boot! The old Renboots building. Should be fun to see what he does with the place. Anyone have any other news or gossip to add?

The thrones may still be a part of the garden area. I left the thrones that we lent the Faire last season. I told the new owners that they needed a bit of work. My agreement with GLMF last year was that they use them if they would fix them up, but they never did anything with them. When I picked them up, I noticed that they are in need of major help now. Laird may take the time to make them presentable before opening, if he actually has the time to do it.
I know that he told me he wanted to keep the feel of the garden similar to what has been there all along. We may not even notice any changes other than the signs.
I hope all is GREAT this year for you all.
Mitch

I heard that The Blonde Swan (Elizabeth's hat shop) was taking Griffin's old leather booth. I thought Steve was going into the old Renboots shop, and Griffin's leather was going to Wylie woven wire. Either way, it looks like there will be some shuffling around the shire, of course after several hours of pub parades you can see LOTS of shuffling around the shire...LOL. I hope to see some new vendors. Anyone else miss the pewter poeple?

That sounds right. Though I don't know about Griffin's old booth. As it was a tent. They may be taking his spot. But I don't know if Griffin was selling his tent to them.

I lost mine a long time ago and i am not that old yet. and neither are YOU Nyneve. anyone that looks THAT good in a bellydancing outfit will NEVER be old!! :-)

Any buzz about another costume rental place in the shire? My mom looooooves renting garb....I can't quite convince her to buy her own, since she only visits once a year (and some years she can't make it out at all!). Granted, I could certainly loan her bits of my closet, but I know how she enjoys different "looks." I also heard a rumor that Princessories was leaving/moving to another location?

The Griffin Costume Rental location was purchased with the understanding that he will do rentals this year. We shall see. Mitch
