Okay, time to drag this back to the top and keep it there. And, of course, nag, nag, nag!!!! Stop. Drink. Often. Don't make me hurt you! I'll be on your proverbial case for the next 6 weeks, along with pretty much everyone else on the grounds. Just make it easy on yourselves and give in now. Resistance is futile..................and besides, it tastes REALLY good! Made by a genuine Goddess and all! ( I mean the drinks taste good, not the resistance. Do NOT make me go there, Hank! ) This first weekend we'll have an assortment of lemonades including Vanilla, Strawberry, Raspberry, and Black Cherry. I'm afraid the promised Peach will have to wait a week or two....the only place I can find the juice ( At an affordable price anyway! ) was out. Still, plenty of others there. We'll also have lots of The Scary Blue Stuff, a LEEEEETLE Nectar of the Goddess, and, of course, gallons and gallons of icy cold water. As stated before, a small donation is appreciated, and will go twards the next week's drinks. Question, too.....it's usually a good idea to avoid caffine, since it's dehydrating, but occasionally, you do need a boost. To that end, how many of you, if any, would be interested in some iced tea? Let me know...... Can't wait to see you all Saturday....love, the Goddess.

Okay gang, on to week two. We'll have the usual this week, along with the promised peach lemonade, extra weird invisible stuff, and I'm going to play with just a bit of guauva lemonade as well.................................. Just a quick bit of warning, last weekend wasn't all that hot, but we had a couple of cast go down non-the-less. Actually, I think that was part of the problem...it not being deadly hot. When it's 99 degrees, everyone is thinking about the heat and paying more attention. But when it's not that bad................... One of those who went down was a veteran, and really surprised and embarrased. By the time someone discovered them, wandering confused and nearly comatose and got them to the Grove, well, let's just say that in another 5 minutes we'd have had a serious problem! As it was, rest, shade, a gallon or so of Gatorade and a pickle later, everything turned out just fine. Still, that was as close as I care to come................. BE CAREFUL!!!! Even when it's not THAT hot it's still easy to get dehydrated. Drink a lot. Often. Even if you don't really want to. Couple of points to keep in mind. If you aren't sweating THAT'S A DANGER SIGN. If you're a bit confused, THAT'S A DANGER SIGN! Buy the time you actually FEEL THIRSTY, THAT'S A DANGER SIGN..............And, gross as it may sound, if you haven't pee'd fairly recently,- all together now,- THAT'S A DANGER SIGN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Don't think about it....................just drink. A lot. Often. As much as we're watching out........in the above mentioned case, it was Cameron, the Rickshaw guy, who discovered the problem and brought the victim to me, THANK YOU Cameron!..............anyway, as much as we watch out for one another, it's still frighteningly easy to get into trouble, and I don't want to imagine ever permanantly losing anyone, EVER. Sooooo, get thee to the Grove and partake. FREQUENTLY. As I've said before, DON'T MAKE ME HURT YOU.................................... ;D ;D ;D Love, the Goddess. P.S. Nearly forgot! When you empty one of the jugs....or nearly so.....PLEASE tell us! We don't mind you emptying them - that is kind of the point! - but if we don't know that they're empty, we can't replace them with a full one and keep things nice and cold. Just yell and we'll take care of it. And again, don't forget to put the cover back when you're through. Thanks!!!

When it's 99 degrees, everyone is thinking about the heat and paying more attention. But when it's not that bad................... Agreed. I know on Sunday I was warning as many people I could about the heat, as it was deceptively humid, especially in the morning. Another point I want to bring up. Just because the faire day ends, doesn't mean it's time to quit worrying about hydrating. Britny had a problem Sunday night. Nothing major as she noticed the symptoms and caught it in time, but it is worth noting as a warning to others. Normally when we get home, we both continue to drink quite a bit. Sunday she got out of her routine as she was going to the lake with friends to watch the fireworks. So, you need to remember to hydrate before and after the faire, not just during the faire days.

Make that all summer, not just for faire.

Just a reminder - there is always good FREE ice water at First Aid (along with anything else you may need) and I keep a crock of it at St Sadie's (soap booth) near the joust if you are at that end of the faire site. Sooo - with several places to stop - there is no excuse not to. Forecast for Saturday is predicting we will hit the 90 degree mark.

also, if you just need to sit down and rest or if it is raining and you want to get dry we have plenty of room to sit and relax. we are down by the joust in case you do not know. as we are "artisans to the knights" all are welcome, including the "royals"!!! you can stay in character and still relax if that is what you want. PLEASE PLEASE do not forget that everyone wants to help out. TAKE IT ADVANTAGE OF IT!!!! DRINK LOTS! Come sit and cool off. do not think you have to "survive" on your own. we are a family and we take care of our own. NEVER be afraid to ask for help.
