Getting ready to re-pack the boxes in the basement and then mop up all the water. Storms hit us pretty well. This is the first time our basement has gotten wet from rain:-(

Perching very uncomfortably in my wheelchair trying to make out the computer screen.....losing my vision, among other things......while Ivy tries to wrestle the hospital bed into the living room so I'm not so isolated.

Just chillin, and gettin ready to watch TV tonight. Spent most of the day cleaning the leaves and such out of the gutters. Such a pain in the ass job. Climb up the ladder, clean about a five foot section, (what I can reach) climb down the ladder, move the ladder over, climb back up the ladder, and repeat the process a million times. (seems that way anyway) Got all the garages cleaned, will start on the house tomorrow. Filled two 32 gallon bags with gutter leaves, and that was just the garages.
You would think in this day and age they could invent a gutter with a trap door. Pull a lever, or press a button and the bottom of the gutter would open up and drop all the leaves on the ground, be a hell of a lot easier.
HANK.

This isn't so much about what I am doing now, but what we did this weekend. (I figured it wasn't worth starting a new thread over.)
About a month ago we found out that the Geauga Park system allows overnight camping in some of the parks. You can either camp in your own tent, or they have lean-to's you can use. So Bunnie thought it would be fun to go camping (we chose the lean-to) and take the THREE doofus dogs with us. They have never been camping before. We chose the Headwaters park, which is only 5 miles from the house. It was a lot of fun. The weather was decent yesterday when we arrived, though we did wake up to a slight rain this morning, but that cleared up in about an hour or so.
Some folks from New York were camped a couple of sites away. They were in Ohio checking out the various covered bridges in Ashtabula Co. So they invited us over for a beer and hot dogs, so we sat around Saturday night chatting with them after taking the dogs for a walk on the trails.
While we were sleeping last night we awoke about 2:00Am to the sound of a pack of coyotes howling in the distance. I was sure the dogs would chime in with a response to that, but they chose to ignore it, surprised me. Awoke around 6:30 this morning to the sound of rain on the roof. But since I was snug and warm in the sleeping bag I just laid there and listened to that and the sound of geese honking on the lake about a hundred feet from our shelter.
Eventually my bowels told me it was time to get up, so off to the outhouse I went. Came back to the shelter, by then Bunnie was awake, so we started in to make breakfast. Eggs, hash browns, and toast and coffee started the day off right as we sat by the fire listening to the geese on the lake.
After breakfast we started packing thing up to head for home. This was a pretty popular spot as someone was camped there Friday night, and another person or persons have the spot tonight. All in all, had a fantastic time and look forward to doing it again, maybe next Spring.
So! That was our weekend, how was Yours?
HANK.

I was going to mulch up leaves this weekend. But then the wife asked me not to. She said she likes the way the leaves look in the yard. So, after a little arm twisting, she convinced me to not drag out the mower and spend an hour and a half doing the yard
