Didn't go to the circus, but got to see a lot of the performers wandering around the Shire during the day.
Was it just me, or did the weird dude in the green and white with the cone head look like some sort of glow-in-the-dark fungus with his ears bleeding!??!
Clowns never bothered me before, but Toadstool Boy there is going to give me nightmares! ;D Not to mention never viewing cream of mushroom soup quite the same way ever again..........

Back in reply #14 I said I would elaborate on what I thought of the Circus, so let me do so at this time.
Over the course of my life I have attended many circuses, from the BIG Barnum & Bailey type that take place in venues like the Cavaliers arena, or the old Richfield Coliseum to smaller ones that pitch their tent in a shopping center parking lot or on the local High School grounds.
The one that took place on the grounds of GLMF was quite a bit different then all of the others. For one thing, there was only ONE ring to watch, where as most circuses have THREE acts going on simultaneously making it difficult to focus your attention on a single act as you are afraid you will miss something in the other rings. Almost like trying to watch 3 football games on 3 TV's simultaneously. You just know you are going to miss some important play somewhere. This circus gave me the feeling that I had been transported back in time to the Middle Ages (did I see a police call booth/Tardis parked outside?) and a group of performers had come to the village to entertain.
Being a small circus, all of the entertainers did double duty as they performed many different tasks. The clown was also the trapeze act, as well as riding atop two horses standing up upon their backs.
All in all I thought it was a most enjoyable show, and if it ever returns to our fair shire I would suggest you try to catch it. That's my take on the subject! HANK.

well 1842 is a far cry from 1200-1400, however, I did enjoy the circus and part of it kinda sorta went with Ocktoberfest weekend. which I have seen in August and September but not October... weird.

Sorry, didn't see this thread before. I was wondering whether everyone went to the circus or not, and if so, what they thought. We didn't originally think we'd go, because as others have said, hey, you gotta watch the spending, right!? Saturday we got the money off coupons, but I figured it would be a 'no go.' So, Sunday, we find out at the 7:30 show, they're gonna feed us too, I say "Hey, let's do it!"
We are still talking about it!!! I'm so glad we got to go, and if they ever come back to our shire, I'd be happy to go again. The only thing we all were a little unhappy about was part of the 'dog act' at the showing we were at. Hopefully, they weren't all like that. Over all, great show and very, very funny! Nino, I think he was, the cute, squeaky clown was grrreeeaaattt!
