Hey Guys, I am looking for a place to offer some stage combat classes. If you know of any gymnasiums, dance studios or unordinarily large spaces please let me know. If I can get this together We will offer them sometime after the new year. Also there is a possible project in the works for those of you with GLMF withdrawl. John

John, What areas are you looking into? Close to Geneva, or Cleveland(ish)? Cheers Kat

I assume the feast hall is not big enough.

I am looking for a place sort of between Geneva and Cleveland. The hope is it will be somewhere with High ceilings (12 feet preferred) wide enough for twenty or more people with swords (Little bigger than the feast hall and heated. As far as price I would see what was available at what price and then see about interest. The goal of all this is to attract some more professional actors to GLMF so I would need to market it in Cleveland.
Thanks, John

I've asked a couple of SCAdian friends for leads too, as they certainly know what space is needed to swing a sword!

Depending on what all you would want to do and what all you would need, I may have a place for you in Mentor On The Lake. Possibly. Give me a call sometime (you remember my home number right?) and I'll see if I can help hook anything up with this.

Hey John, it's your friendly neighborhood Pickle Goddess here ( just in case you didn't know my character name!) My 'cousin' Poison Ivy and I live out on the west side of Cleveland, so if you need help promoting out this way, just holler! Ivy knows people in the theater, so she can help with connections, and we're both up for doing any other kind of promoting that you might need. Lots of access to local colleges, etc. Just give a yell................. ;D

Do you think any of the colleges or would have space or be willing to offer classes through thier own organizations? I would be willing to contact them if you have information. Or if you have contacts maybe you could give me an introduction? Let me know you can e-mail me at hack@hackandslash.com.
Thanks, John

I could help with the promotion as I also have theater connections, not to mention working for a small theater company.
Can't wait to find out what the "project" is!

Thanks I will take all the help I can get. I am also trying to get some relationships going with local theaters. Possibly mounting some productions to generate year round interest in the faire. Any thoughts?

Unfortunately the company (Mapleleaf Theater Co.) I work for got kicked out of our home last summer, due to new management. But you might want to check out Willoughby Fine Arts, this sounds like something they might be interested in. Here's the contact info. The Fine Arts Association: 38660 Mentor Ave. Willoughby, OH 44094 Phn# (440)951-7500 Fax (440)975-4592 www.fineartsassociation.org/

Forgot to mention that some former and current Fine Arts (and Mapleleaf) people used to perform up at Sterling. So they would definitely be open to this idea.
