We first heard him out at the Arizona Ren Faire a few years back. And we asked him why he didn't come to our faire since he does Michigan's and he told us that he was set to play ours but the TPTB told Larry because of noise ordinance he was not aloud to play our faire.

Trevor...You may be correct about the stages being "bouncy" to absorb the shock of the dancers, it would make sense I suppose. BUT! On the other hand I know when Bob, John and I painted the Stumble Inn back in the spring that there are places where it is "squishy," like the wood underneath is starting to rot from rain and snow. One of these days someone could drop a leg thru if they land on the wrong spot. HANK

When I mentioned him to John last year, before he actually took over the position, John mentioned that he really liked him and I think he said he knows him. I was not aware of a noise ordinance, but it doesn't surprise me. He is incredibly loud. I say that in a good way. Could you imagine him in our woods? I think it would be incredible to have him at our faire!

yes Mitch. A lot of us saw him at Michigan in 2005. He is awesome. I heard that we cant get him because of the noise factor at the faire. He is loud with all those bells but he is so great. I'd really love to see him at our faire.

Yes, I am sure the trustees would just love to give us a hard time about having him as well. Anything to thwart the fiare.

They just need to come to faire and have some fun with us. Perhaps Barely Balanced could be talked into coming back. I always enjoyed them. We are going to see them on their last weekend in PA. Maybe I can get them to reconsider. I know John wanted them back. We shall see.

I know John wanted them back. We shall see. Don't hold your breath. From what I heard, they were asking for a big chunk of money. Like more than Johny Phoenix or the Tortugas.

I'd like to see more celtic or scottish dancers, maybe from one of the dancing schools in Cleveland ( there are at least three of them ) it would give them more exposure for the schools. We also could use more impromptu street interaction and not only by the offical cast members. Aren't we Urber patron and venders also needed to improve the ambieance?

Okay, I'm sure they've been mentioned but...The Rogues and The Tartan Terrors for as long as you can get em! Broon! Broon! Broon! And if there would be some way to snag Owain for the whole run, that would be sah-weet!
I also have to say, after attending MDRF twice now on Closing Weekend...DOW (or "Day Of Wrong") is an awesome spectacle. It started out as folks just wearing something "wrong" with their garb and has turned into a colorful, hilarious (and sometimes scary!) collection of men in pink fairy outfits, Dorothy and Toto (with the Flying Monkey!) Men wearing 16th women's court garb, Klingons, Storm Troopers and a mish mash of guys in tartans of which colors were not meant to be put together!!
Just a thought...other than that, I think a "Fantasy" Weekend of LOTR, Harry Potter, Super Heros and such would be fun!

The soggy muddy weather reminded me of this. A couple hundred pounds of gravel on that little path that winds beside the bakery and takes you back to the kitchen area. Those of us who have to go back there on a regular basis would really appreciate it. Hopefully this is already being planned.
No complaints about the kitchen area itself, not since Larry dumped a couple tons of crushed I-90 back there a few seasons back. One of the few places that doesn't turn into "Avalakes" when it rains.

I guess you know your bagpipes, cuz I never noticed Barrett playing FOUR different songs. I always thought it was the same song. Shame on you Hank! Barrett has a plethora of tunes! Pay more attention!
