Both Sir John and I had a great time!!!!!!!!!!! I also would like to see the rides back Especially the Crows Nest with some picnic tables by it so I can get some lunch and go sit and watch all the kids having one heck of a time. That was so sweet. ;D It was hilarious to see Gibbon go on to the tables to do his show since at that time there were not many at stage seating but eating and watching his show. Also there were new dishes. Stuffed Cabbage. Calamari. Chicken Paprikas and others. I just can't believe I had the Stuffed Cabbage and Friar Plucks chicken in one day:

Great weekend ;D We watched Hack and Slash, The Mud show, Ded Bob, Porter and Stout, The Joust, the chess match, the merry men show, the jail break, Pub sing, that still leaves half the faire I agree wit Trevor, the crowd was deceiving, much larger than it seemed. The sand pile in the middle of the faire seemed a hit. though I do not go for most carny games, the sail boats are pretty cool. Ice cream at two vendors to cool a hot day I did not know a weekend could slip by so fast, A whole faire weekend gone, how sad Still most of the season to look forward to. Say, shouldn't the banner be counting down to the second weekend of the faire?

I am in PAIN. D:
My feet are blistered and sore, my ankles hurt, my knees are KILLING ME, and my shoulders are massive knots. I am exhausted, even after having most of Monday to recuperate.
But! I had fun. Opening weekend went incredibly smoothly. I didn't do any large bits; Saturday was a day of greeting people I haven't seen in a year, saying "good den to ye" a lot, introducing myself, and asking how to butcher dogs/frogs/rats/elephants/alpacas. And talking about how we're reduced to eating rats because of PJ's taxes. No large bits, just the small one-minute or in-passing things. Sunday was even more small bits because I was half dead with exhaustion; lots of sitting around "sharpening" my cleaver and saying "good den" to passersby.
Nonetheless, it actually worked out really well. Good warmup for the rest of the faire season, and apparently I made an impression on a number of people, so I must have done better than I thought.
It was great seeing all the people I haven't seen in months and months! And the shire looked wonderful. The patrons were all in pretty good moods and willing to play. We didn't have too many injuries or people dropping from heat exhaustion. It wasn't horribly hot and it didn't pour down rain. There was a bigger crowd than past opening weekends, but they were mostly kept in the shows thanks to the new schedule, so we had enough people to play with but not so much that we were having a hard time moving through the lanes. All that adds up to a good opening weekend, I'd say!

I do want to thank all that stopped by and partook of the limited fair I had for sale. I shall try to provide the menu as listed in the program, although I failed to remember about the jumbo turkey leggs. I have put in my requests for the supplies I will need for this weekend, I do hope I planned enough food? It was good to see those at the after hours, even if I didn't get to visit. I think that Sunday had a larger crowd, it might have been something about the prices. Because I have to cook all the chickens up before I leave, I am trying to sell all that I can. It was good Of Lady Cindy to allow me to turn the money in later. Please help me improve the offerings I provide by telling me what was good ;D and not. Again, Thank you for your patronage. And may I see thee anon.

Hey Patty, A hint from a long time sufferer of 1st weekend pains and aches.... ibuporfin for the swelling or if you can handle it...I prefer aspiran taken with a steaming cup of coffee. something in the coffee does a chemical reaction that serves as a mild (very mild) muscle relaxer.. and lots and lots of potassium....before during and after fair.....I don't get enough in bannanas and pickles so I also take the suppliment....It helps.
