Around here (west Akron) gas was around $2.19 a couple of days ago. If prices keep rising, I'll definitely feel the pinch, but I won't let it affect my faire attendance. I'll just have to cut back on other things, one of them being shopping at the faire. My friends and I are also planning to carpool. If anyone around Akron, Medina, Cleveland and surrounding areas needs a ride to faire this summer for any reason, I'd also be happy to give you a lift. I'll probably be making a couple of solitary trips, and would love to have some company!

Yep, gas prices are out of control. And as volunteer cast members, we will make that trip 12 more weekends than patrons. Adds up too quick for my taste. So, I am planning on taking up some of the offers of hospitality with friends and cast members who live closer to faire than I do (Erie, BTW). I’m resurrecting this thread to make a suggestion to Trevor: Let’s keep this board near the top of the page, and use it as a “ride board”. For any unfamiliar with the concept, anyone who will be going to faire on certain days posts this ahead of time, saying from where and when they will be leaving, and how many guests they are willing to take with them in exchange for gas money. Conversely, those who would like to go to faire but don’t have a ride can also post saying where they live, what days they want to go, etc, and someone could contact them about picking them up. Indeed, Trevor, if this idea flies, you may want to devote a new thread catagory to it, with threads specifically for people in the Cleveland area, Akron, Youngstown, Erie, etc. so that they wouldn’t have to wade through tons of posts to find one appropriate for them. The nice thing about this is that the people on this board are (mostly) familiar with each other to some degree, so it’s not like you would be riding with a *complete* stranger. In fact, I would wager that most of us feel like this is an extended family of friends. Well, there’s my suggestion. Hope everyone is doing well - and it *was* nice to see you volunteers who were helping Sarah with the cleanup this weekend. Take care and come back again soon (we need the help, I’m sure!). A very good idea! Tomorrow I will make a new section just for this sort of thing. That way, like you said, then we can have threads dedicated to specific areas.

Just wanted to mention. For anyone coming in from the East. The second exit in Ohip (for Kingsville route 193) Has 2 gas stations with gas at $1.95, and a 3rd one that is only a couple of cents more. This was as of Sunday when I stopped for gas.

Prices are on the rise again in the area.
Lowest I have found is like $2.04. Average seems to be around $2.19
That way you know a deal when you see it.

Thanks Trevor. I usually stop at the Kingsville exit. I *think* gas here in Erie is around $2.20/gallon....I haven't put gas in my buggy in about a month (one of the perks of walking to work!), so I haven't been paying close attention to prices at the pumps. Erin

I got it for $2.11 but no one will come down this far I doubt. I saw it as low as $2.09

This past weekend in Kingsville, the 3 stations were $2.03, $2.04 and $2.09. I use the station that is $2.09. It might be a little more, but it is and easy in and out at that station. The other two, usually take forever to get into. And there is usually a line inside when I go to pay as well. The one I use, it's like a total of 5 minutes from the time I get off the interstate, to the time I am back on it again
