Hi, I'm BAAFAN. I'm an old time posting friend of Tay. Primarily at 3 other boards (Dusted, Lost Horizons and Scope Vision), the later which I am helping to run. My posting interests started with Buffy and Angel (hence my username - Buffy And Angel FAN). Of late, I've been running Scope Vision where we focus on Sci-Fi shows (Battlestar Galactica 2003, Stargate SG-1, Stargate Atlantis and Doctor Who). Following is a little bit about myself: * I'm 52+ * Born and raised in Pittsburgh. Moved to Houston when I was 25. * Married with 3 kids. Girl 22 who just recently graduated from University of Texas, Son 18 who is a freshman at University of Texas and a Daughter 17, who is a junior in high school. * I'm an electrical engineer by education, but am currently working as an IS&T manager for Bechtel Corporation. * I have many interests, from WW2 history, comic book collection, sci-fi novels, tv (of course , computer games (Warcraft, Age of Empires and many others) and Broadway musicals. Anyways, I found out the other day that Tay helps manage/admin this board so I decided to check it out for myself. --- Baafan

Hey, welcome to the board! I'm Tempest and I spend a lot of time receiving PMs telling me to calm down and shut up. (I wish I were joking, I really do) Are you interested at all in medieval faires or any related shenanigans, or are you mostly here for the *cough interesting cough* company? either way, welcome again. -

Hey sheepman Actually everyone, Baa is really cool, and I love debating TV shows with him. If anyone wants to check out Scope, here is the addy. bb.bbboy.net/scopevisionOur BSG, SG1 and Doctor Who fans should enjoy it. We have talked a little bit about the shows here, but there isn't enough interest to really keep a conversation going. So if you want to talk about those shows, give it a look.

Oh yeah, Jenna. Don't ever calm down.. The barely controled chaos that is you is what makes you so unique and interesting.

Thanks Tempest, Sir Trevor and Britny for the warm welcome. For now, I'm here mostly for the *cough* interesting *cough cough cough* company! But...as I learn more and more about your board, who knows, I may develop an interest in medieval faires. In fact, every year for about 1-1/2 almost 2 months, there is what we call "Texas Renaissance Fair" that I've gone to several times. I always enjoy it. They have Knights Joisting on horses, "magicians", falconery, etc. And since Tay was kind enough to throw in a plug for Scope Vision, if you're into sci-fi and "fantasy" shows, you are all welcome to come! As they say, the more the merrier!

Oh yeah. From what I have heard TRF is one of the really big faires out there.

Hi Lady Hep: Thanks also for warm welcome. Hi Sir Trevor (calling you that is going to take some time to get used to ). As much as I've enjoyed TRF when I've gone, I haven't been there in several years. Almost went 3 weekends ago, but instead my wife opted for a surprise / impromptu trip to San Antonio to visit my son at school. So...maybe next year.

Yeah, things have been hectic for you lately. You can drop the sir, I only use that for my ID because of the medieval feel of it.

Yeah, almost doesn't sound right to say 'sir.' That makes him sound like nobility and that's no fun. (It's like in french class when they call me mademoiselle - I think pretty much anyone who knows me can tell that I am NOT a 'mademoiselle.') There was that one time Trevor got to be a man at arms, but other than that, he's just Trevor to me. Actually, to ME, he's TREEEEEEEEEEEEVOOOOOOOOOOOOOR! as I barrel towards him intent on slicing and/or hugging the life out of him. I've been told my hugs are more deadly than my sword-fighting. That doesn't stop people from looking forward to them though.

Damn strait! The danger makes things even more enjoyable. Not only do I get a hug from a lovely lady. I am also glad to still be alive

Did I tell you my roommate's new boyfriend actually had the nerve to say he was afraid of me? He'd never even MET me before - and just because I walk into the room heralding my triumph over a man 6 inches taller and 120 pounds heavier than me in a steel cage match - he jumps to the conclusion that I am someone to be feared. I resent this - just because I CAN kill people doesn't mean that I will for no REASON! I told my roomie to drop the chump and get with a real man. Whether she listens or not is her business, but she'll thank me later if she listens.
on a side note - I AM THE STEEL CAGE CHAMPION! BOW BEFORE ME OR FACE MY INSATIABLE LUST FOR BLOODSHED! *cough*
