Over at the cast board, we've been posting scenes and bits that we've seen or taken part in that we really enjoyed. Of course, they're from cast viewpoints, so we've got different opinions than patrons might. So I was wondering - what interactions have you had with cast (and entertainers on street too - Sword School and Bardic Wind do a lot of crazy fun stuff, for instance!), what bits have you seen, etc that you've liked?
List the ones you didn't like as well, if you wish - gives cast an idea of what doesn't work so we don't repeat it. ^_~
Thanks!

Lets see, off the top of my head. I have been involved with several with the insurance salesman.. The mayor's wife has enlisted my aid on opening weekend. Several street discussions with the gypsies. Ranging from helping them find a husband, to them trying to appease me after they married off my daughter while I wasn't around Had a great one with Cutty. It was set up with a couple exchanges throughout the day. Basically she accused me of being in her way, and I responded with the fact that it was the scurvy pirate that was in fact in my way. A little back and forth with this, including a few insults and threats in the Drift Inn area in the morning. Again near fairyland in the afternoon. Finally it all came together over by Owain's old stage around 5 ish. When we litterally bumped into each other again. Insults flew. Challenges were issued. She asked me to choose the method. I picked rock / paper / scissors. I threw scissors, she threw paper. I gloated, she dropped to the ground in defeat. I walked away while her companions helped her to her feet. Also had another on the way to closing gate on Sunday with the lovely Constance Trueheart nervously walking on her own to the gate. I could not let a lady walk unescorted. Especially with pirates and who knows what other types of riff-raff about. So I escorted her to the gate. Lots of misc exchanges with fairies, the pooka, almost tripping over the blacksmith (because he was hidden so well behind his branch while stalking the pirates ) Of course the page is always looking for someone to deliver a missive and asking if anyone has seen so-and-so And I won't even get into the stuff with Penfold.

I have got to say that the blue fairie (Caspia, I think), did an AMAZING job interacting with Kelzar's 5 year old daughter in Fairie Land. Especially when Katie threw her the question "are you a real fairie or a human with pretend wings?".
Thank you Caspia, you made a 5 year old's weekend!

My favorites so far have been Hob the insurance salesman before opening gate and a pair of gypsies that wanted to be from Wales but were really from humans...don't know who could possibly have been one of those gypsies Rob aka Hokie

I've had many interactions. Can't cite all of them because I don't won't to slight anyone!
But last weekend I had an almost 3 year old with me, and several cast members made his day, and his Mommy's (my niece).
Queen Aurora entranced him with her rainbows. Tommy is ALWAYS verbal, but he really opened up with her.
Several fairies, especially the purple one, spoke to him and invited him to play. Our wonderful King and Queen both greeted him; I'm sure the Duke would have but at the time he was busy making a little girl feel like a Queen, which was a pleasure to witness (gave me warm fuzzies, ya know!).
Just about every pirate and gypsy we passed at some time during the day greeted him. Even a jailer, altho he did run away quickly when I suggested jailing the little one as a babysitting ploy.
And it was priceless when, as Menagerie started their show, to see him point to Lizzie, giggle, and say "She's silly!"

the innkeeper and a lady were stopping everyone with pieces of the baracade and asking them for the password. the innkeeper and hob were launching pieces of the barracade at people. and paige was kept busy almost all day long delivering missives on behalf of the sword school.

Dame Judith, Queen Aurora is a real 'Queen indeed'!
She doth make all feel so special, and IMHO that's what makes the Faire so special.
She's awesome with children..
I cert hope she stays with the Faire for some time. She is an asset.

Thanks for all the feedback, friends! You've made this an awesome year for me. A lot of our guests have seemed particularly difficult this year (though I'm sure that has something to do with the fact that I'm presenting them with a valuable opportunity to invest in their futures) but the fact that you had fun despite my greasiness really makes it all worthwhile. Unfortunately, Sunday was my last day with GLMF as I'm moving on to NYC very soon. But if ever we meet again, by land or by sea, I will always remember your kindness to me.
Sincerely yours, Hob Quigley Best-of-Shropshire Award Winner 1197-99 for Outstanding Achievement in Insurance and Customer Service (and I do mean "service")

I'd like to say thank you to all who remember me. I am Lady Paige, daughter of the Duke. Sry I haven't gotten to talk to patrons much. I'm a little shy and nervous, plus I have no idea what to do.

IF you want a small suggestion. You could just go up to paytrons and ask if they have seen ____________ (insert name of character). Then explain that you are the royal page, and that you need to deliver a message. It's short, it's easy. It involves paytrons, but doesn't take a lot of their time. If they seem playful, then you could expand on it. You do have several sub-plots going on with your character after all.

Don't take offense to this JJ, but the Entertainment Director's job during rehersals was to help you overcome your shyness and nervousness. You also mentioned you have no idea what to do. That's also the Entertainment Director's job to help define your role and teach you exactly what you are supposed to be doing. Really sad when you have talented cast people wandering around not knowing what to do.

I've seen several "victims" of the insurance salesman--all smiling and giggling. Then I was stopped just past the gates by the innkeeper and his wife and asked if the oxen were pirates. Having no eye patches, no swords, no bandanas, and having never said,"AAAHHHRRRRR," they were allowed to pass. The innkeeper and his wife had breakfast at Olive's Bistro one morning, using my place as their campaign headquarters in their quest for the mayoralcy. Pennfold has wowed many wee ones at the Cottage with magic tricks, attracting gobs of passers-by. And Paul and Silas have posed for countless photo ops, eaten out of the hands of scores of patrons, and had several guest drivers during their morning tours.
I will miss Chris!
