I shall leave the Infinity for the rest of you. 50 bucks a year is more than bargain enough in my eyes for the time I spend there. But it's a cool plan.
The feasts... nice to see a classic event return but they better have some of the regular acts planning some very special and unique performances if they are charging that ON TOP of the daily fee. I could justify 20 or 25 bucks for a meal and a couple of songs from the regulars.

Yeah. It's one of the reasons I never did the feast back when it was a regular feature. Too much money for something like that. But I do know people who really enjoyed it, and were sad it wasn't available anymore. So, hopefully this makes them happy, and gives the faire a bit of a 'shot in the arm'. I am sure the extra money would be welcome, and I also know Larry was pretty fond of being able to offer a feast. As for the infinity pass. I too would have passed on it. But my daughter would hear none of that. So she got me an early birthday present. Attachments:

Also, forgot to mention this when Cindy posted it a couple weeks ago.
"Dont forget we are forming guilds for each area ex: fairy, pirate, royal, gypsy, chess. These are not cast positions or spots but rather individuals who want to work solely in one of those areas. Cast spots wont be involved with these areas they will be seperate from these areas. Anyone interested in being involved in these guilds please let us know as they are starting to form. Cast spots will be seperate we will have the main spots for this years theme and the rest will be just villagers."
So, looks like they are looking to beef things up a bit. I think they liked how things have been working out with Pirate Dave and company and are looking to expand it to other areas of the shire. I think it's a great idea. Frees up cast to just be cast, and fills other areas with people who want to be there and do that stuff, without having to do the other cast stuff. Though, I am not sure what the mention of 'chess' means. Unless they are just looking for people to consistently fill the extra spaces on the chess board.

I would think that is what it is. The liability on letting a patron or non-cast member actually fight would be ridiculous.
Now, the question is this: What benefits are they offering for guild members? Expecting any of us to show up regularly and spend the whole day in one zone should garner something.

Not sure. I know Dave's pirate crew are allowed to sell their wares.

It's almost here. time for you all to shake the mothballs out of your gear. (unless that is the weird odor you're going for, then by all means, keep them in)

Dear Faire Family and Friends,
As time moves on (even for we Immortals!) change is inevitable. While past summer days have been carefree (relatively( and destine to be spent in Avaloch amongst the trees, music, laughter and love of your friendship, it is now time for the wheel to turn and focus shifted. Family responsibilities (an aging father and taking care of his house/2.8 acres of yard) as well as attention to the many project at our house, (painting, cleaning garage and basement, sealing driveway, new windows, etc...) and yard work, now requires Dwyn and me to spend our weekends addressing those issues. Juggling vacation time for the few Faires we wish to attend out of state (Sterling and Maryland) and attending ORF twice (Oct. 9-12 and Closing Weekend) has made the decision not to attend GLMF this year a hard truth. It is difficult to fathom not walking through the Shire and seeing you all but know that we will be there in spirit and hopefully see you at other Shires late on in the summer. Know that you all have our love and we will keep your friendship in our hearts. Until then...Merry Meet, Merry Part and Merry Meet Again!

Wow! That's a bummer.
The rational side of my brain can understand the logic behind it. Those 6 weekends do put me behind on a lot of my home maintenance. But the irrational side of my brain hopes you can manage to sneak in at least one visit this season.
